    Abstract: A system including a heatable tube, through which a liquid flows, with at least one opening formed through an outer wall of the tube and a laser directing a laser beam through the opening to an inner surface of the heatable tube to heat the cylinder. The system may be utilized within a hot water heater. A method and a hot water heater system are also disclosed wherein the liquid is indirectly heated with a laser.
