  • Patent number: 4921103
Abstract: A ventilated rack case for alternatively transporting and operating a rack mountable unit of electronic equipment includes an inner rectangular frame, which is open at the front and back, shock absorbing material, e.g. foam, surrounding the frame, and an outer cover over the foam. For ventilation, cutouts are provided in the foam and frame and a protective screen is secured in the openings. The cover includes front and back flaps for selectively closing the front and back openings of the frame. A top ventilation flap is configured to cooperate with the cutouts to provide ventilation. The flaps can be closed for storing and transporting the rack, and opened for use to allow access to the control panels and proper ventilation of the electronic equipment without removal from the case.

  • Patent number: 4684091
Abstract: A portable and foldable stand for musical instruments includes a pair of spaced apart supports each including a tubular main leg having a pivot collar, a brace leg, a brace, a pin for joining one end of the brace to the brace leg, and a latch for releasably attaching the brace to the main leg. The brace leg is pivotally linked at one of its ends to the pivot collar of the main leg and is joined to one end of the brace by the pin. The other end of the brace is releasably attached to the main leg by the latch means. A pivot is joined to the main leg, and an upper segment is joined to the pivot means. At least two cross members are provided each one including a releasable clamping sleeve for releasably clamping each cross member to each support. The clamping sleeve is releasably clampable and slidable on the upper segment and the pivot, thereby linking the pair of supports.

  • Patent number: 4127053
Abstract: A percussion instrument includes a sound chamber having a cavity therein with at least one opening thereinto, support means secured to the chamber within the cavity, a resilient, elongated member disposed within the cavity of the chamber, one end of which is free-standing and the other end of which is coupled to the support means, a knocker secured to the free end of the resilient member, and a vibratory, elongated rod which is secured to the sound chamber. The rod includes a handgrip along one portion of its length for imparting sustained vibrations to the resilient member and, in turn, the knocker, so that the knocker will strike the walls of the sound chamber to thereby produce a percussion sound. The instrument is particularly suitable for simulating the sound of a jawbone percussion instrument, used for Latin American music.
