Abstract: A system and method for developing a course requires a plurality of participants that collaborate over a network, for example, a social network. A database stores an initial framework that defines a sequence of learning units for creating a desired learning environment for students, those learning units made of specifically ordered content objects. The learning units are identified by corresponding learning unit identifiers. A plurality of workstations coupled to the network are used for entry of reviewer information by the participants using the learning environment created for the students. The reviewer information comprise one or more comments entered by one participant about a learning unit or content object and a rank entered by anther participant about the comment, with the rank being correlated with a defined ranking standard. A processor processes the rank according to a predefined criteria to produce a ranking result that is associated with a learning unit identifier.

  • Publication number: 20080131862
Abstract: This invention is a computer based system for the assessment, management and instruction of students, and for the delivery of work pages and other instructional materials in the form of electronic student workbooks. The computer based assessment of the student produces a student profile including skill gaps or learning objectives. Teacher (20) and student (22) workstations are networked CPUs with pen-based tablet inputs, and displays network with a central processor (10) and data base. A director workstation may also be networked with the central processor. The central processor generates a teacher workbook either directly or with input from the director workstation. The teacher, or teacher and director together, assemble an electronic student workbook containing instructional materials correlated with the student profile. The system tracks useful data such as instructional material (e.g., textbook pages, work sheets, software, simulations, tests, etc.) delivered to students.

  • Publication number: 20080075418
Abstract: A method and kit for training a participant in professional practice. The method may include video recording a first session of a master practitioner interacting with clients in a professional environment, video recording a second session of an interviewer viewing the first session and interacting with the master practitioner about what transpired in the first session, preparing a video segment comprising video footage from the video recording of the first session and the video recording of the second session, and providing the video segment to the participant. The kit may include a video segment, the video segment comprising video footage from the first video recording of the first session and the second video recording of the second session.
