  • Patent number: 10090650
Abstract: An exemplary safety cover for a power panel includes at least one body, at least one connector, and at least one gripping portion. The body has a first surface and a second surface substantially parallel to and spaced apart from the first surface. A perimeter wall extends between at least a portion of a perimeter of the first surface to at least a portion of a perimeter of the second surface. The connector has a perimeter wall that extends from the second surface of the body to a distal end. A plurality of relief areas are located in the perimeter wall proximate the distal end of the connector. The connector also includes at least one stop that is spaced apart from the distal end of the perimeter wall. The connector is configured to removably engage at least one of a connector and an opening of the power panel.

  • Patent number: 9997303
Abstract: An exemplary circuit breaker terminal cover includes a cover and at least one attachment portion. The cover has first and second side walls and a vented surface extending between the first and second side walls, the first and second side walls extending to form a wire opening. The at least one attachment portion is configured to hold the terminal cover in place and to removably engage at least one of an opening, a side, an edge, a protrusion, a fastener, a wire, and a handle. An exemplary strip of circuit breaker terminal covers includes a plurality of terminal covers and at least one frangible connection joining two adjacent terminal covers of the plurality of terminal covers.

  • Patent number: 8674555
Abstract: A hybrid neutral transfer switch in an electrical system to transfer a load between multiple AC power sources is provided. The hybrid neutral transfer switch includes a neutral gate controlled device connected to a neutral input of each of the multiple power sources and a mechanical transfer switch that switches between the neutral input of each of the power sources. During the transfer of power from one power source to another power source, the neutral gate controlled devices are activated and/or deactivated in conjunction with the switching of the mechanical transfer switch from one neutral input to another neutral input.

  • Patent number: 7589438
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transferring AC electrical power to a load from a first power source to a second power source provides for a time delay in the transfer to avoid problems associated with differences in the phases between the power sources. The phase of the voltage waveform from each power source is sensed continuously, and the phase difference is known at all times, so that it can be used when the transfer is necessary. The method and apparatus monitors the voltage from the first power source, and initiates the transfer from the first power source to the second power source in response to an unacceptable condition from the first power source. The second power source is connected only after waiting for a period of time corresponding to the appropriate time delay.
