Patents Assigned to LCC International, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7113753
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for processing signal strength information from a radio frequency transmitter and for determining signal coverage for a wireless device. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving signal strength information indicating a power for the radio frequency transmitter at one or more first locations; receiving location information representing a geographic location for one or more second locations; dividing the received signal strength information into one or more subsets of signal strength information; determining, for each of the one or more subsets, a local mean such that the local mean represents an average for one of the one or more subsets; and estimating a location for the local mean based on the received location information.

  • Publication number: 20040032857
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and systems are provided to simulate a network carrying a heterogeneous mix of traffic in order to assess the performance of the network. Parameters and information are provided to define the configuration of the network and define how resources in the network are shared between types of traffic for a simulation run. In addition, sets of parameters define characteristics for individual types of traffic. During a simulation run, the individual types of traffic are generated with the defined characteristics using one or more models. The individual types of traffic are then aggregated to generate a joint, heterogeneous mix of traffic. As the mix of traffic is generated, resources in the network are allocated. Statistics are then collected for each simulation run to indicate the performance of the simulated network when loaded with the heterogeneous mix of traffic.

  • Patent number: 6067055
Abstract: A cylindrical, omnidirectional antenna array includes a plurality of vertically spaced circular rows and a plurality of angularly spaced vertical columns, with an antenna element located at each row-column intersection. The antenna elements included in one 180.degree. sector of the cylindrical array are vertically polarized, while the antenna elements included in the other, diametrically opposed 180.degree. sector are horizontally polarized to provide polarization diversity. Optionally, the antenna may be adapted as a sector antenna array by reducing the number of columns and the angles of the diametrically opposed sectors to less than 180.degree..
