Patent number: 11095181Abstract: A stator for a rotary electric machine includes a core extending along an axis and having a series of axially extending passages arranged circumferentially about the axis. A plurality of teeth are provided with each tooth including an axially extending inner surface defining a passage and a projection extending therein. Retention devices secure each tooth to the stator. Each retention device includes a resilient member having a base extending within one of the passages of the stator and an arm extending from the base and within the passage of one of the teeth. The arm including an enlarged portion for engaging the projection to pull the tooth into engagement with the core.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2020Date of Patent: August 17, 2021Assignee: LCDRIVES CORP.Inventors: Matthew Honickman, Russel Hugh Marvin

Patent number: 10770953Abstract: A rotary electric machine includes a stator having a circumferentially spaced series of axially extending teeth defining winding slots therebetween. Stator windings are at least partially disposed in each winding slot and electrically connected to form a plurality of phases. One or more slots contain the same magnitude of current at substantially all times for each phase. Structure defines a plurality of elongated coolant passageways disposed in each winding slot. A subset of the coolant passageways contained in the slots for a single phase is an even number. Fluid flows in one direction for half of the subset of coolant passageways and in the opposite direction for the other half of the subset of coolant passageways. At least two of the coolant passageways in the machine are fluidly connected in parallel. At least one of the coolant passageways is located circumferentially between two windings in the same slot.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2013Date of Patent: September 8, 2020Assignee: LCDRIVES CORP.Inventor: Russel Hugh Marvin

Patent number: 9797490Abstract: An actuator for moving a first component relative to a second component includes a first actuating mechanism secured to the first component and having a first motor, a first nut, and a first shaft secured to the first motor and the first nut such that the first nut is rotatable with the first motor. A second actuating mechanism is secured to the second component and has a second motor, a second nut, and a second shaft secured to the second motor and the second nut such that the second nut is rotatable with the second motor. A screw is threadably engaged with the first nut and the second nut such that rotation of at least one of the first motor and the second motor causes movement between the first and second nuts to move the second component relative to the first component.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2015Date of Patent: October 24, 2017Assignee: LCDRIVES CORP.Inventors: Russel Hugh Marvin, David H.
