    Abstract: The present invention relates generally to compositions and methods for reprogramming a primate somatic cell to a higher potency level. Specifically, the invention includes compositions which comprise a recombinant polypeptide that is a potency-determining factor and methods of reprogramming a primate somatic cell to a higher potency level under conditions that allow sufficient amount of the polypeptide delivered into the primate somatic cell.
