Embodiments are described for linking an animation to a multimedia file and presenting the animation overlying a concurrent playback of the multimedia file (e.g., its content). Embodiments are described for including additional elements to the presentation of the animation outside of the playback of the animation, including residual elements that relate to the content of the animation and/or allow a user to receive further information about the content of the animation. Embodiments are described for linking an animation to more than one multimedia file.

The system can be integrated for use with a plurality of different websites and adopt both the look and feel and the content format of each website, and/or other communication medium. Compensation may be provided to the user providing the content based on a variety of metrics.

If a condition specified in one of the rules exists in a given text string, one or more attributes are associated to that text string as metadata. A final title is prepared based on the potential title, and the content is published online under the final title.

In one embodiment, a recommended content platform optimizes the links displayed on web pages based on a portfolio of content sources which determine which links are displayed in a given page view. The algorithms may or may not utilize data relating to user interaction with webpages and may produce different sets of links depending on the content of a webpage and a position on a webpage where the links are to be displayed. A given webpage may present links from multiple content sources displayed using multiple user interface elements distributed throughout the webpage.
