Abstract: Disclosed herein are gutter guard systems arranged to efficiently manage the flow of rainwater across the system and prevent the matting of debris onto the system. In one exemplary embodiment, a gutter guard system includes a main body and a screen covering the main body. The gutter guard assembly further includes a front receiver and a rear receiver that secure the screen to the main body. The screen includes at least one feature arranged to manage the flowrate of rainwater across the gutter guard system. In one example, the feature is a raised rounded area that slows the flowrate of rainwater across the gutter guard system. In another embodiment, the screen includes an upwardly angled section and a transition section. Once assembled and installed, the transition section and optionally the angled section forms hurdles that slows the flowrate of rainwater across the gutter guard system.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are novel components arranged for attachment to a rain gutter and useful for the installation or repair of gutter guard systems. One example is a clip that includes a back section and a front section extending from the bottom of the back section. The back section and the front section are generally perpendicular to each other. The back section includes a slot arranged to accommodate the rear edge of a rain gutter so that the clip can be attached to a rain gutter. The clip further includes two side members extending upward on either side of the front section. The side members each include an arm section that defines an opening in each side member. The openings are arranged to accommodate and secure features of gutter guard systems. In one example, the openings are arranged to accommodate legs extending rearward from a lower portion of gutter guard systems.

Ab exemplary system includes a hanger and a strap. The hanger includes a body, a hook portion located on one end of the body, a flat end portion located at an opposite end of the body, and a plurality of slots passing though the body. The strap includes a body, neck section, a head section, and a plurality of apertures passing through the body. The neck and head sections are arranged to engage with one of the plurality of slots of the hanger to support the rain gutter and accommodate the installation of a gutter guard system with the rain gutter. In an alternative embodiment, the hanger includes a clipped portion on one end in place of the flat end portion.

The modular assembly includes a number of configurable components. In one embodiment, a gutter guard system includes a customizable main body, a mesh screen, a front receiver, and a rear receiver. The customizable main body includes a top surface, a bottom surface, a front edge, and a rear edge, and the main body is arranged to be trimmed to custom dimensions. Once assembled, the mesh screen is positioned on the top surface of the main body, the front receiver is positioned along the front edge of the main body, and the rear receiver is positioned along the rear edge of the main body.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are various components for configuring, assembling, and customizing modular gutter guard systems for trough-style and built-in gutter systems. Such customizable gutter guard systems are designed and arranged to be positioned across the opening of a trough or box gutter and include a water management features to assist in managing the flow of rainwater across the gutter guard system. The modular assembly includes a number of configurable components for use with a specific trough-style or built-in gutter system based on the trough-style or built-in gutter system's design, size, and/or dimensions and the anticipated volume and flowrate of rainwater flowing to the rain gutter system. Such customizable components include a main body, a mesh screen, and front and rear receivers. The main body and mesh screen can be secured together to form a main body subassembly, and a water management feature can be formed in the main body subassembly.

Abstract: A clip for use with a gutter guard system is disclosed and claimed herein. In one embodiment, a clip includes a first wall, a second wall arranged generally parallel and spaced apart from the first wall, a first slot defined by the first wall and the second wall, a third wall, a fourth wall spaced apart from the third wall, and a second slot defined by the third wall and the fourth wall. The first slot is arranged to removably secure the clip to a rear receiver of a gutter guard system, and the second slot is arranged to removably secure the clip to a gutter.

Abstract: A front receiver for use as an interchangeable component with a modular platform for a gutter guard system is disclosed herein. One such front receiver is arranged for use with a gutter guard system that includes a main body, the front receiver includes a main section; an extension section extending at an angle from a front edge of the main section; a first leg; a second leg; and a drip edge. The main section includes the front edge, a rear edge, a top surface, and a bottom surface. The first leg extends generally perpendicularly away from the bottom surface of the main section. The second leg extends generally perpendicularly away from the first leg toward the rear edge of the main section. The drip edge extends perpendicularly from the second leg.
