Abstract: A hollow cone nozzle for atomizing liquids, which is provided with a housing having a tangential inlet and a mouthpiece containing the nozzle discharge which is to be detachably fastened in the housing; a ring-shaped swirl insert with an opening disposed coaxial to the nozzle discharge and with several inlet channels directed transversely to the axis of the opening is thereby arranged in the nozzle housing between the inlet and the mouthpiece whereby the inlet channels of the swirl insert have cross sections that decrease in the flow direction.
