Abstract: A lighting system includes a light fixture assembly having a lower housing portion enclosing LED light circuitry, a rechargeable battery, a wireless communications module, and a system controller, and an upper housing portion enclosing a wireless charging receiver, a communication antenna, and a first set of magnets. A wireless charging assembly includes a wireless charging transmitter connected to a power source and a second set of magnets configured to releasably adhere to the first set of magnets to hold the charger housing against the fixture housing for charging. A wireless remote control application is used to control the lights within the fixture.
