    Abstract: A tool unit includes a tool head, a motor and a switching drive for the head. The head has a first section with first blades and a second section with second blades. The second section is movable to and fro between a passive and an active position relative to the first section, the second blades being retracted in the passive position, and the second blades projecting axially beyond the first blades in the active position. The drive includes an electromagnet and an actuating armature made from magnetically attractable material and is arranged in the region of action of the electromagnet. The electromagnet is positioned between the head and the motor and is fastened to a housing part of the motor such that it cannot be rotated. The armature is connected fixedly to the second section. A gap remains between the electromagnet and the armature in the passive and active position.

The at least one actuation surface and the actuation element are configured to be axially pressed towards each other.

The screws are threaded into the threaded portion of the bores for pressing the cutting tips against the support surface. The cutting tips have receiving openings. The screws have a guide shaft penetrating the receiving opening and extending into the threadless portion that has a tight clearance fit relative to the guide shaft. The screws have a head and the head has a clamping surface extending parallel to the support surface. The guide shaft is arranged adjacent to the clamping surface.

    Abstract: In a method of manufacturing tools having attached thereto cutting plates with a cutting edge coated with a hard cutting material, the cutting plates are first positioned on the cutting tool body in a desired position and fixed on the cutting tool body in that desired position by electric spot welding. Subsequently, the soldering material is applied to each cutting plate. Soldering of the cutting plates to the cutting tool body is performed at a temperature of 720.degree. C. to 850.degree. C. in a vacuum of 10.sup.-4 to 10.sup.-6 mbar. In a final step, the cutting tool body with the cutting plates soldered thereto is slowly cooled in the vacuum oven.
