  • Patent number: 5263674
Abstract: A valve device for permitting a fluid to flow in two opposite directions at different rates includes an orifice body confining a flow passage. The orifice body has one end defining a valve seat. A valve member is swingingly mounted to the housing to move toward and away from the valve seat. The valve member has a hole with a cross-section smaller than that of the flow passage whereby the flow of the fluid is large when the valve member moves away from the valve seat and is small when the valve member moves toward and seats against the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 5236407
Abstract: A hydraulic exerciser includes a base and a pair of driven units which are mounted pivotably on the base. A rigid tubular connector is secured on the base and extends between the driven units. The tubular connector has two ends which are provided with an annular peripheral groove and a fluid hole that is formed in the peripheral groove. Each of a pair of hydraulic cylinders includes a cylinder body, a piston movably disposed inside the cylinder body, a piston rod connected to the piston and having one end which extends out of the cylinder body and which is mounted pivotably to a respective one of the driven units, and a plug which is secured on one end of the cylinder body and which mounts pivotably the cylinder body on a respective one of the two ends of the tubular connector. The piston, the cylinder body and the plug cooperatively define a volume variable fluid chamber which is filled with hydraulic fluid.

  • Patent number: 5222580
Abstract: A hydraulic cylinder for a physical exercise equipment includes a cylinder body, a piston rod which extends outward from the cylinder body and which has an annular groove that is formed circumferentially in an outer end portion of the piston rod, and a coupling mechanism which includes a flexible end sleeve and a cylindrical metal retaining element. The end sleeve has a pivot joint tubular portion and a tubular protrusion which projects radially from the pivot joint tubular portion. The tubular protrusion is formed with a receiving recess which receives the outer end portion of the piston rod therein. The pivot joint tubular portion has a pivot bore formed therethrough so that a pivot pin can extend therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5186700
Abstract: A pedaling exercise device includes two pairs of pedaling plates, each of which has an upper plate and a lower plate hinged to the upper plate. Two pressure-operating members are respectively provided between the upper and lower plates of the pairs of pedaling plates. Each of the pressure-operating members includes an enclosed flexible hollow housing having an upper partition and a lower partition dividing the housing into a first, a second and a third chamber from top to bottom. A first flexible tube interconnects and communicates the first and third chambers. A predetermined amount of air is contained in the second chambers. A predetermined amount of liquid is contained in the first and third chambers and in the first flexible tube. A second flexible tube communicates the second chambers of the housing. A pumping device is provided for pumping air into and for allowing air to escape from the second chambers.

  • Patent number: 5161629
Abstract: A Bourdon's pipe that includes a clamping member at its sealed end. A threaded hole is bored through the clamping member into which a first bolt with a head is threaded whereat the head sealingly abut against the clamping member. The first nut has a passage including a constricted section with open end communicating with the interior of the Bourdon's pipe, and a valve seat adjacent to the constricted section. A movable ball-shaped valve is provided in the passage of the first bolt. A second bolt threaded into the passage of the first bolt to adjustably abut the ball-shaped valve against the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 5133421
Abstract: A weighing scale includes a hollow casing having a lower base and an upper covering for support an object. A pressure gauge mounted to the base includes an indicator, and a hydraulic pressure sensor connected to the indicator and actuating it in response to a sensed pressure produced by the weight of the object. Four spaced fulcrum posts are mounted to the base. A lever mechanism includes a rear one-piece rod and a pair of spaced front rods respectively and pivotably mounted to the four fulcrum posts. The rear one-piece rod includes a force exerting plate resting on the hydraulic pressure sensor. A transmitting frame provided between the covering and the lever mechanism includes a pair of spaced rods and a connecting rod mounted between the spaced rods which are pivotably mounted to the lever mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4685336
Abstract: An improved gearless pressure gauge comprises a sensing member, an elastic member flexibly mounted with respect with the sensing member, a seat member carrying a helix capable of moving with the elastic member, and a rotary shaft including a fixed lateral pin laying on the helix which can be rotatably driven thereby responding to the movement of the sensing member under pressure, which in turn imparts through the elastic member and forces the helix to move upwardly, a pointer carried by the rotary shaft thus can give a pressure reading, the rotary shaft can return to its initial position when the pressure on the sensing member is removed by the restoring force of a spiral spring.
