  • Publication number: 20080211131
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a device for producing friction linings by pressing a pourable material (14). Said material (14) is pre-compressed against at least one support plate 9), whereupon the pre-compressed material (14) is conveyed to a press (4) and is subjected to a final compressing process in a pressing mold (11) comprising at least one hollow space (11?). The pourable material (14) is pre-compressed already in the pressing mold (11) while the pre-compressed material (14) is conveyed to the press (4) directly in the pressing mold (11) and is subjected to the final compressing process there.

  • Patent number: 5613898
Abstract: A device for producing inclines and/or grooves on friction pads, such as brake pads for motor vehicles comprises a table with a mount for the brake pads. The table is linearly moved on a carriage below flat, truncated-conical grind disks which are disposed in pairs and oriented mutually mirror-symmetrical. The table is swivellable about an axis oriented tranversely to the travel direction. The swivel movement is effected by at least one pneumatic cylinder. Control valves or control switches run onto cam ramps on cam bars when the table is driven forward and they initiate the swivel operation of the table. The friction pad is operated on when the table is in the downwardly or upwardly pivoted position, whereby the table is preferably locked in its position during the various grinding operations.

  • Patent number: 5384991
Abstract: An apparatus for grinding molded friction products comprises a rotary indexing table with a substantially horizontal indexing table. The table surface indexes from one indexing position to another. Tool fixtures support friction product parts to be ground on a friction surface thereof. The tool fixtures are disposed on the rotary indexing table at the indexing positions. A grind stone is disposed above the indexing table surface for grinding the friction product part supported in the tool fixture at one of the indexing positions. The grind stone rotates about a grind axis which is substantially parallel to said central axis of said indexing grind table, but can be tilted by a small angle so as to provide a skim cut grind to the product. The method provides for performing operations at all indexing positions simultaneously.
