Abstract: Reversible or indexable cutting knives are mechanically attached to at least one of a leveler saw and a roughing tool for a perfect or patent binding operation. In one embodiment, each reversible or indexable knife has multiple cutting edges. The cutting edges of the reversible or indexable knife may be arranged around the knife such that the knife can be rotated to a different position to replace a worn cutting edge with a new cutting edge on the same knife. The knives may be attached in recesses in the roughing tool or leveler saw.
