  • Patent number: 9707371
Abstract: A ventilator includes a compressor, a storage vessel, a valve assembly communicating with the compressor, the storage vessel, and an inhalation line. A controller directs the valve assembly between a storage configuration where ventilation gas is delivered from the compressor into the storage vessel, and a delivery configuration where ventilation gas is delivered from the storage vessel to the inhalation line. The controller is coupled to a pressure sensor for detecting a first pressure within the storage vessel when the valve assembly is directed to the delivery configuration, and detecting subsequent pressure while ventilation gas is delivered from the storage vessel to the inhalation line, the controller determining the volume of ventilation gas delivered to the patient based at least in part on the difference between the first pressure and the subsequent pressure.

  • Patent number: 9361943
Abstract: A system and process for attaching tags to panoramic video. Tags provide information when viewing panoramic images, serve as references to specific actions and serve as reference for outside systems into a panoramic image database. Objects in a video can be tagged. It defines tags through 4-D time-space curves, which specify the 3-D location of a tagged object over time. It provides a user-friendly mechanism for defining said curves in panoramic video, which rely on curve fitting techniques to minimize the number of images to be labeled. It provides a mechanism for annotating tags with further information. When displaying tagged panoramic video, tags are graphically superimposed on the panoramic video feed using projective projection techniques. From this visualization, a user can then select a given tag and invoke an associated action. Additionally a mechanism whereby tags and associated user-provided information are used as index into panoramic image databases is provided.

  • Patent number: 8458152
Abstract: A system which includes a cell phone or other mobile device which uses RSVP (rapid serial visual presentation) to present text information. The mobile device software receives the textual material to be displayed in a mark-up language, preferably XML. The markup language is used to provide information about the actual content being displayed to indicate certain features using enhanced RSVP techniques. To provide these marked-up language files to the mobile device, a backend system is utilized. The backend system receives the files to be read and parses them to provide the markup language based on the desired changes to be used by the advanced RSVP display of the mobile device. The marked up file can be forwarded on a routine basis or can be requested by the user. The mobile device receives the marked up file and displays the material in the enhanced RSVP methods according to the commands.
