Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting information identifying a media item associated with a geographic area are disclosed. In one embodiment, a user device comprises a media player adapted to interact with a media item. The user device comprises a communication interface adapted to provide media item information identifying the media item, and to provide location information identifying a geographic location associated with the user device at which the media item was interacted with. The user device comprises a location determination component adapted to receive an identification of a geographic area. The communication interface is further adapted to receive information that identifies a second media item, wherein location information associated with the second media item is associated with the identified geographic area. The user device further comprises a user interface adapted to present, via the user device, the information that identifies the second media item.

A receiving device simultaneously receives the two content streams transmitted for the radio station. The receiving device provides playback of a first content stream of the two content streams. During playback of the first content stream, the receiving device buffers one or more most recently received content items from the second content stream. When a user of the receiving device initiates a skip, the receiving device performs a skip function by switching playback from the first content stream to the second content stream beginning at the start of the one or more most recently received content items from the second content stream that have been buffered at the receiving device.

For each Internet radio station program of the plurality of Internet radio station programs, the Internet radio station program is dynamically categorized by mapping a dynamically identified topic of the Internet radio station program to a content classifier. A User is enabled to discover an Internet radio station program of interest from the plurality of Internet radio station programs based on the dynamic categorizations for the plurality of Internet radio station programs.

According to an aspect, a method may include using at least a processor and memory for receiving candidate media items associated with one or more computing devices that either has recently played or is currently playing a media item currently being played by another computing device. The method may also include determining recommendation scores for the candidate media items based on occurrence counts of the media items within a predetermined time period. Further, the method may include generating a media item recommendation for the other computing device based on the recommendation scores.

The users may be enabled to search for radio station programs of interest based on the dynamic categorizations of the radio station programs, navigate or browse the radio station programs based on the dynamic categorizations of the radio station programs, or the like.

The conversation data may indicate a topic of the conversation and a location of the conversation. The user device may then present a visual representation of the GOI to the user. For example, the visual representation may be a map or a viewfinder frame captured by a camera of the GOI. The user device may present one or more visual indicators. At least one visual indicator is presented in association with the visual representation of the GOI in order to represent the topic of the conversation and the location of the conversation.

In general, a receiving device simultaneously receives two or more content streams transmitted for one or more radio stations and provides a skip function by buffering and switching between the two or more content streams. Initially, the receiving device provides playback of a first content stream of the two or more content streams. During playback of the first content stream, the receiving device buffers one or more most recently received content items from the other content streams. When a skip request is received, the receiving device performs a skip function by switching playback from the first content stream to a second content stream of the two or more content streams beginning at the start of the one or more most recently received content items from the second content stream that have been buffered at the receiving device.
