  • Patent number: 7702777
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed in which a management module (MM) designates an idle blade in a client blade farm to be an “administrative blade” that has administrator access to the virtual images of all users. The MM identifies when a particular user image is, or is not, in use and conveys this information to the administrative blade. The administrative blade performs virus scans, backups, defrags, patch installs, software upgrades, and other such maintenance functions on user images when they are inactive, thereby eliminating the performance impact to active users.

  • Patent number: 7421588
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and system to seal a data repository to a trusted computing platform is described. The data repository may be sealed by encrypting the data on the repository and sealing a cryptographic key to a specific set of platform resources. With the data repository sealed to the platform, the system boot sequence will fail if the system configuration is compromised, for example by insertion of “snoopware” or a modified BIOS. Additionally, if the computer containing the data repository is lost or stolen, the encrypted data remains secure even if the repository is attached to a system modified to bypass normal safeguards.

  • Patent number: 7379026
Abstract: The electronic device includes a device body, a radiation element for performing reception and/or radiation of electromagnetic wave as an antenna to be equipped with the device body, and a dielectric member placed close to or in contact with the radiation element within the device body, the dielectric member being movable from the outside of the device body to shift the resonance frequency of the antenna. According to the present invention, it is possible, for an electronic device such as a notebook PC having a wireless communication function, to compensate the deviations of resonance frequency of antennas caused by errors in mounting of the antennas for individual devices, the difference in the dimension of structures or the like, to match the resonance frequency to the specified central frequency.

  • Patent number: 7254040
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for connecting and disconnecting daughter cards. A handle urges a locking member toward a base comprising a stop and a channel. The channel may direct the locking member to a specified position. The locking member biases the catch and the biased catch engages with the stop. The stop and the channel of the base secure the locking member to the base. In addition, the handle urges the locking member away from the base. The handle also urges an actuator to unbias the catch. The handle further disconnects the locking member from the base as the unbiased catch does not engage the stop.
