Patent number: 6720738Abstract: The invention, which relates to a method for generating a starting voltage for a fluorescent lamp, in which the starting voltage is generated by means of alternating voltage that is impressed on an LC series resonant circuit, and to a corresponding circuit arrangement, is based on the object of increasing the reliability of starting and avoiding maximum permissible starting voltages being exceeded. According to the invention, this object is solved in that the frequency of the alternating-voltage generator can be controlled by a control unit and in that a measuring circuit is connected to the control unit, whereby the alternating voltage can be gradually reduced from a high frequency to a lower frequency, where the lamp voltage is compared to a setpoint value at certain intervals and the starting procedure terminated when the setpoint value is reached.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2002Date of Patent: April 13, 2004Assignee: Trilux-Lenze GmbH & Co. Patent number: 6459999Abstract: In order to identify phase failure in an asynchronous machine, monitoring of the phase currents is performed, a trigger signal being generated for each phase in the event of a limit value being undershot. In order to cover the entire frequency range in converter operation, a changeover is made between different monitoring states. In the first monitoring state, the trigger signal is generated if the instantaneous value of the phase current in each case falls below the limit value. A changeover is then always made to the second monitoring state, where the duration of the trigger signal is compared with the swept angle of rotation of the voltage vector in the same phase. If the state of the phase current lasts during this period of time, in a third monitoring state the duration of the trigger signal or the continuance of the phase current state is checked during a defined delay time interval. If the trigger signal outlasts the delay time interval, phase failure is signaled.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1999Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Assignee: Lenze GmbH & Co. Patent number: 6234037Abstract: A modular gear system includes a plurality of gear modules and drive modules. The gear modules and drive modules each have a cylindrical output pinion which facilitates connecting the various modules to provide a desired transmission ratio. At least one of the gear modules is an angular gear module which incorporates a contrate gear which can mesh with an output pinion of a drive module or the output pinion of another gear module.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2000Date of Patent: May 22, 2001Assignee: Lenze GmbH & Co KGInventor: Detmar Zimmer

Patent number: 4970450Abstract: Angular position and rotation rate of a function generator having stator windings and rotor windings are determined by first amplitude modulating a carrier oscillation to form a sine signal and a cosine signal and then feeding the sine signal and cosine signals to opposite stator windings and thereby inducing in the rotor winding an analog function-generator signal. In turn this analog function-generator signal is converted into a digital function-generator signal from which is derived by means of an algorithm a digital rotation-rate signal which is numerically integrated to obtain an angular-position signal. This angular-position signal is itself used to modulate the carrier oscillation.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1989Date of Patent: November 13, 1990Assignee: Lenze GmbH & Co KG AerzenInventors: Heinz-Dietmar Karl, Manfred Tinebor, Jurgen Krietemeier

Patent number: 4914355Abstract: A d.c. voltage supply circuit including a flyback converter having an inductor which is alternatingly charged through an electronic switch and discharged via a diode onto a capacitor. The output voltage of the flyback converter is continuously monitored. If a threshold value is exceeded, the electronic switch, which is mounted in an input line of the flyback converter, is changed into the off-state. The off-state of the electronic switch is terminated as soon as the output voltage has again fallen below the threshold value. Loads requiring a specific d.c. voltage may be connected to different supply voltages without the need of changeovers. The circuit offers a high security in view of overvoltage from the power network. It is self-monitoring and protects the connected load.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1988Date of Patent: April 3, 1990Assignee: Trilux-Lenze GmbH & Co. Patent number: 4806843Abstract: A d.c. supply circuit containing a series-circuit composed of a switch and an inductor. A regulator circuit is provided to alternatingly drive the switch into conductive and nonconductive states. The control is performed by the inductor and responsive to current (i.sub.L).The series-circuit also includes an auxiliary switch, to which is connected, in parallel, a series-circuit formed by a diode and a capacitor. In short periods, in which the switch is conductive while the auxiliary switch is nonconductive, the capacitor is charged in order to generate the supply voltage for the regulator circuit.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1988Date of Patent: February 21, 1989Assignee: Trilux-Lenze GmbH & Co.
