Publication number: 20130180625Abstract: A stump cutting assembly mounted to a stump cutting wheel. Stump cutting assembly is a stump cutting tooth interconnected to the wheel by a holder or block that is fixed to wheel by welding or other equivalent process, an optional debris deflector and a fastener that interconnects tooth and deflector to holder. As wheel rotates about its axis of rotation, the tooth cuts away at wood or other debris in which it comes into contact through the side to side and/or longitudinal movement of a stump grinder unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2013Publication date: July 18, 2013Applicant: LEONARDI MANUFACTURING CO., INC.Inventor: LEONARDI MANUFACTURING CO., INC.

Patent number: 8186135Abstract: An electrically powered two wheel mowing, trimming and edging apparatus is disclosed. A rotating cutting head is cantilevered in front of the wheels, with a battery positioned behind the wheels to act as a counterweight to the cutting head. A caster below the battery allows easy maneuverability and permits trimming in corners. The cutting head contains both metal cutting blades and filament line, and the operator selects which cutting tool he wants based on the type of foliage to be cut. The cutting head easily rotates from the horizontal to the vertical, allowing the apparatus to be used as an edge trimmer.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2010Date of Patent: May 29, 2012Assignee: Leonardi Manufacturing Co. Patent number: 6138725Abstract: A two piece improved stump grinding tooth comprising a one piece cutting tooth having a hardened cutting bit, preferably made of tungsten carbide, or another material having hardness properties similar thereto, fixedly attached to the body portion of the tooth through brazing or other attachment process. The tooth body and tip are positioned at predetermined angles to improve the cutting characteristics of the tooth as it engages and removes material from a stump, and are held in the proper cutting position on the grinding wheel by a pair of mounting blocks through which the tooth body is secured to the grinding wheel.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1999Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: Leonardi Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventors: Joseph A. Patent number: 5898976Abstract: A female hinge member, and a hinge assembly including the member, includes a pair of spaced ears between which a cylindrical roller is supported for rotation about an axis parallel to the axis about which the female hinge member and a pivotally attached male hinge member are relatively rotatable. The hinge assembly is connected to opposite end portions of a framework forming part of a handbag. As the hinge members are relatively rotated in moving between open and closed positions, the roller moves along the surface of a cantilever spring on the male hinge member, in rolling contact therewith.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1997Date of Patent: May 4, 1999Assignee: Leonardi Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventors: Ezio Leonardi, Sr., Joseph Leonardi

Patent number: 5819827Abstract: A stump grinding apparatus having a tooth which is automatically retained with respect to, and appropriately gauged from a pocket. The tooth includes an elongated shank portion having front and rear ends and a head portion integrally extending from the front end of the shank portion. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a pair of longitudinally spaced holes are formed through the shank portion adjacent its rear end. A pin may be inserted through one of the two holes formed through the shank portion, with the chosen hole being dependent upon whether the shape of the pocket being used is either entirely round or partially round with a straight rear edge. When the tooth is securely clamped to the stump grinding wheel via the pocket, the pin is positioned in abutting relation to the rear end of the pocket, thereby preventing the tooth from moving axially with respect to the pocket.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1997Date of Patent: October 13, 1998Assignee: Leonardi Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: Joseph Leonardi
