Abstract: A surgical guide system for dental implantology has a plate (10) provided with a guide sleeve (2) delimiting a through hole with an axis oriented to a predetermined direction. A drill (4) for osteotomy has a spindle connected to a handpiece with drilling portion (41), the drill (4) being for association with the guide sleeve (2) during osteotomy. The diameter (d41) of the drilling head portion (41) is larger than the inner diameter (d2) of the guide sleeve (2) and the spindle is of smaller diameter, such that the association of the drill (4) to any of the guide sleeves (2) can be performed only by inserting the spindle through a gingival side of the sleeves. Upon association of the drill with the sleeve, the drilling head (41) protrudes from the gingival side (2G) thereof. The surgical guide has a void (100) accommodating the drilling head (41) of the drill.

Abstract: An abutment (2) connects with a fixture (1) by a Morse-taper type coupling, with the installation of a truncated-cone shank (21) of the abutment (2) into a corresponding cavity (11) exhibited by the fixture (1). The abutment (2) is provided with an appendix having a polygonal cross-section (22), and is positioned below the shank (21). The appendix is fitted into a corresponding impression (12) provided in the bottom of the cavity (11) of fixture (1). The abutment is also provided, on the side opposite to the appendix (22), with respect to the shank (21), with a portion (20, 24) intended for supporting a dental prosthesis (D). The appendix (22) can be rotated about its longitudinal axis, relative to the shank (21) of the abutment (2).

Abstract: An orthodontic bracket including a body (1) having a mesiodistal slot (10), a base (11), and a plurality of tie wings (12, 120) mainly developed along an occlusal-gingival direction. The tie wings are provided two-by-two on opposite sides in relation to the slot (10) and partially emerging over a labial side (L) of the body (1). The slot (10) is apt to receive an archwire (2). The tie wings (12, 120) protrude externally from the body (1) and towards the base (11), feature a curved surface (121) whose concavity is turned towards the same base (1) and constitute a support for an element (3) apt to prevent the archwire (2) from coming out of the slot (10). The element (3) features a planar portion intended to slide above, and parallel to, the labial side (L) of the body (1) and a flexible and elastic arm (33) having a portion (34) which is securable to the surface (121) of two tie wings (12) resulting on the same side in relation to the slot (10).

Abstract: The present invention refers to a process for making an expansion screw and a screw thus made; the expansion screw (100, 100′) has two bodies (1, 2) that can be spaced apart by acting on the driving portion (6) of a double screw (3) housed within threaded central bores (30) provided in the two bodies (1, 2); each of the bodies (1, 2) has at least one bore (5, 50) parallel to the threaded bore; also provided is at least a hollow cylindrical guide (9) housed within a corresponding pair of parallel bores (5, 50) disposed on the two bodies (1, 2) in facing relationship; inserted in each guide (9) is a pin (4) for sliding therein; each guide (9) is fixed to one of the bodies, while the relevant pin (4) held therein is fixed to the other body, and the sliding of the pin (4) relative to the guide (9) takes place with friction owing to the force exerted upon assembly.

Abstract: Orthodontic bracket having a retention base for a respective tooth and identifying indicia in relation to the tooth for which the orthodontic aid is suitable. The indicia includes a sign provided on the back side of the retention base. The size of the indicia is at least 3 square millimeters. The indicia has substantially null depth with respect to the retention base, thus following the outer profile of the latter.

Abstract: Apparatus having screw means for the mandibular distraction comprising, for each side of the dental arch under treatment, at least two bands (1, 10) capable of being fitted on predetermined dental elements and fixed to corresponding bodies (5, 6) with two parallel guide rods (7) going therethrough and disposed on opposite sides with respect to the expansion screw (2) which drives said bodies (5, 6) away from each other to allow for the corresponding stretching apart of said bands (1, 10), said screw (2) being provided with a driving portion (20) for driving it into rotation under the operator's control to cause the said separation of the orthodontic bands (1, 10) associated to the bodies (5, 6). The driving portion (20) of the screw (2) is arranged, in correspondence of the head of the screw (2), parallel to said rods (7): the driving portion (20) of the screw (2) facing the mouth of the patient to be engagable by a driving tool (8).

Abstract: Expansion screw for orthodontic plates or prothesis of synthetic resin, comprising at least one spindle (1) with at least a threaded portion (10), a block (3; 17) with through hole (31) for housing one part of the threaded portion (10) of spindle (1), guide means (2; 16) for moving each block (3; 17), means (11, 12) for actuating each spindle (1), wherein said hole (31) provided in each of said bodies (3; 17) has an inner diameter greater than the outer diameter of the corresponding threaded portion (10) of spindle (1) to allow for the interposition of a corresponding amount of resin in which a surface is cast of specular shape with respect to that of said threading and which takes up the form of the corresponding nut screw: each block (3) being integral with a corresponding element of the orthodontic plate or prothesis.

Abstract: The apparatus for obtaining an at least prevailing or even exclusive expansion in the anterior sector of the maxillary arch two substantially symmetrical components (1, 3) with arms (11, 12; 31, 32) fan-like stretching apart and to be combined with orthodontic bands (40); the two components (1, 3) are articulated to one another by means of a hinge (5); an expansion screw (7) acting between the two components (1, 3) is able to stretch them angularly apart by progressive actions to be exerted on the same screw.
