Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a manual food-slicing apparatus, comprising: a blade-supporting base; a cutting disk rotatably mounted to the blade-supporting base and comprising a plurality of cutting teeth disposed on an outer periphery thereof; and a food-guiding platform comprising a food-facing surface; wherein the food-guiding platform is pivotably mounted to the blade-supporting base to configure the food-slicing apparatus into a cutting configuration in which the food-facing surface of the food-guiding platform is substantially perpendicular to a cutting plane defined by the cutting teeth and a storage configuration in which the food-facing surface of the food-guiding platform is substantially parallel to the cutting plane. It also concerns a corresponding method.

Abstract: A cutting device for cutting an edible product into several pieces, the cutting device including a base frame, a main receiving area, a main pushing assembly, and a main cutting assembly, for receiving and cutting the edible product into a series of main cuts, via an array of holes, provided by a main cutting interface. The cutting device further includes a preliminary cutting assembly removably mountable about the base frame for first receiving and cutting the edible product into a series of preliminary cuts, via an array of holes provided by a preliminary cutting interface, prior to insertion of the edible product into the main receiving area, wherein the edible product is ultimately cut into a series of pieces resulting from the passage through at least one, and/or both, of the main and preliminary cutting interfaces of the cutting device.

Abstract: A steaming system is for steaming food. The steaming system including a base component adapted for receiving fluid therein, the base component being adapted to cooperate with a steam generating apparatus configured to heat up said fluid to produce steam. The steaming system also includes at least one steaming component includes a steaming compartment adapted to contain food to be steamed, the at least one steaming component being operatively mounted on the base component and being in fluid communication therewith. The steaming system is operable in a steaming configuration where the components are stacked onto one another to allow circulation of steam from the base component to the steaming compartment. The steaming system is further operable in a storage configuration where the base component is contained within the steaming compartment.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of treating a surface of a utensil as well as to a utensil having been treated by the method. A substrate is provided to form a component of the utensil. The substrate has a surface area to be treated. Through a shot peening process particles impact the substrate substantially evenly across the surface area, so as to dimple the substrate with depressions across the surface area, in order to reduce adhesion of matter on the treated surface area of the utensil.

Abstract: A grating device is for grating a substantially solid product capable of being grated. A first housing of the grating device is positioned, shaped and sized for encasing the product to be grated. A second housing is operatively connectable to the first housing, the second housing having a loading section configured for receiving the product to be grated. A grating drum is rotatably mountable about the second housing, and positioned, shaped and sized for grating the product from the loading section of the second housing via rotation of the grating drum against the product. A biasing assembly is operatively cooperable with the first housing for biasing the product to be grated inside the loading section of the second housing towards and against the grating drum.

Abstract: A device for making patties of compressible food matter of different sizes, for example meat patties, comprises a first member having a first compression plate for making a patty of a corresponding size and shape. The device further comprises a second member to be added onto the first member. The second member has a second compression plate to extend from the first compression plate to form therewith a larger compression plate when the first member is mounted onto the second member, in order to make a food patty of a corresponding larger size. The first and second members have respective cooperating attaching means to connect the members in an assembled position.

Abstract: A snow tool for removing snow from vehicles having a telescopic handle and a brush disposable either longitudinally or transversally. The telescopic handle has first and second members connected in a sliding relationship and providing retracted and extended states of the handle. The snow tool also has a pair of arms provided with bristles and means for moving the arms between a closed position where the arms extend along the handle and an open position where the arms extend transversally to the handle. The snow tool is also provided with first locking means for locking the first and second members with respect to each other in the retracted state and second locking means for locking the first and second members with respect to each other in the extended state. The snow tool is also provided with a compression spring for urging the first and second members into the extended state, third locking means for locking the arms in the open position and fourth locking means for locking the arms in the closed position.

Abstract: A floor mat comprising a substantially flat body having an inner, downwardly recessed area for receiving drainage liquids, and peripheral drainage channels extending from peripheral portions of the recessed area for channelling liquids into the recessed area. The floor mat also comprises a first substantially flat element for absorbing liquids, sized for fitting in the recessed area of the body; and a second substantially flat element pervious to liquid, sized for fitting in the recessed area of the body and disposable over the first element.

Abstract: The machine for peeling vegetables and fruits has a hollow base. A vertical pole projects upwardly from the hollow base. A threaded rod extends vertically within the vertical pole and is driven into rotation by a handle. The vegetable or fruit to be peeled is held between a support pin rod having one end slidably mounted onto the vertical pole and a remove end which is located at a distance away from the vertical pole, and a support axle rotatably mounted about a vertical axis on top of the hollow base. A set of gears is mounted within the hollow base and connected to the bottom end of the threaded rod and to the support axle so as to drive the support axle into rotation when the handle is rotated.
