  • Patent number: 10574831
Abstract: Methods for handling traffic between a first network including a virtual communication platform and a second network, such as a circuit-switched network, include inserting customer identifiers into data packets. For traffic sent to the second network, the packets with the identifiers are transmitted to a trunking service that uses the identifier to determine one or more applicable service attributes for handling the data contained within the packets. For data traffic received from the second network, the virtual communication platform uses the identifiers to determine a destination, such as an endpoint device, for the traffic within the first network.

  • Patent number: 10575167
Abstract: Provided is a content delivery method and architecture for delivering content from a node in a content delivery network (CDN) using an anycast address to direct a requesting device to access a content manifest. The manifest server of the CDN may select the provided manifest based on information received from the requesting device and/or any other network information, may alter attributes of the manifest itself, or direct the requesting device to a different device or manifest server of the CDN to obtain the manifest. The selection of the manifest, alteration of the manifest, or new location to obtain the manifest causes the connection for content to occur at one or more servers accessible through a unicast address, rather than an anycast address.

  • Patent number: 10574557
Abstract: Embodiments generally disclosed herein include a computer-implemented method for monitoring and correlating network traffic data associated with a primary network that is in communication with a plurality of secondary networks. The method generates a network traffic data set by monitoring network traffic between the primary network and the plurality of secondary networks. The method also determines a mapping of network connectivity by monitoring inter-network routing information between the primary network and the plurality of secondary networks. In addition, the method generates a traffic measurement data set by monitoring network utilization statistics between the primary network and the plurality of secondary networks. With the collected data sets, the method then calculates a relational network mapping between the primary network and the plurality of secondary networks by correlating the network traffic data set, the mapping of network connectivity, and the traffic measurement data set.

  • Publication number: 20200053172
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve a CDN utilizing a Direct Server Return (DSR) request command to create a tunnel from one content server to another content server of the CDN. Through the DSR tunnel, a request for content may be served from a content server that is more advantageous for the CDN for any number of reasons, such as from a content server that is logically closer to the content server. In determining when a DSR tunnel is created to provide the content, the CDN may access a database storing various information concerning the CDN, such as the location of egress gateways of the CDN in relation to one or more content servers, connecting network location information, the capabilities of one or more content servers, and/or load information of available content servers.

  • Patent number: 10560386
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for dynamically applying PPP-based network functions to traffic flows based on heuristics, policy conditions, and client-specified conditions. A network monitors a network traffic flow to determine whether the network traffic flow meets a first criterion of a first rule. The criterion specifies that when the first criterion is met, a PPP-based network function be used to analyze or process the network traffic flow. When the network traffic flow is determined to meet the first criterion, the network determines a first route through the network to a PPP-based router that provides the PPP-based network function and configures one or more routers along the first route to forward the network traffic flow to the PPP-based router for analysis or processing.

  • Patent number: 10560284
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve methods and systems for mapping network service paths between endpoint devices of a network. An aggregate network traffic database is used to store network traffic data retrieved from network devices of a network. A network service mapper then queries the database using endpoint device identifiers corresponding to endpoint devices to determine which network devices interacted with the endpoint devices during provisioning of previous network service instances. The set of network devices is then compared and analyzed to determine one or more network service paths between a pair of endpoint devices. In certain implementations, network architecture rules and/or network device configuration data is also analyzed to determine an order of the network devices along the one or more network service paths.

  • Publication number: 20200044967
Abstract: A dynamic SRMS (DSRMS) in a MPLS network generates unique segment identifiers for nodes of the network lacking segment identifiers (SIDs). The DSRMS receives network information from other nodes of the network that may include, for example, Internal Gateway Protocol (IGP) routing information, advertised prefix values for the nodes, and label values used in MPLS routing. The DSRMS analyzes the information and identifies nodes of the network that are not associated with a SID. For each identified node, the DSRMS generates a unique SID and then announces the SID to other nodes within the network. Generating the unique SID may include executing a hashing function using the IP address of the identified node as an input.

  • Publication number: 20200036781
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for managing the distribution of content and/or communications from a telecommunications or computer network to an end user of the network. In general, the system receives a request for content from a user of the network and analyzes the request to determine an estimated geographic region and/or an access network associated with the requesting device. Based on the determined geographic region or access network, a networking device returns a specific anycast IP address from which the content may be received. In this manner, the content providing network may utilize multiple anycast IP addresses within the network to provide content to one or more end users of the network. The specific anycast IP address is provided to an end user device to obtain the requested content.

  • Publication number: 20200028754
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve provisioning customers of an aggregator, such as a reseller, of a content delivery network (CDN). In one aspect, content requests to the CDN are processed in accordance with the virtual IP (VIP) address at which the request was received, according to a property template bound to the VIP where the template is selected by the customer and only involves discrete parameters for the reseller. In another aspect, cache fills of the network are processed without direct knowledge of the customer origin through a combination of some request attribute, e.g., alias host of the customer, and an attribute of the reseller to make a DNS request to a name server outside the CDN. Another aspect involves receiving a property template selection, an origin and an alias from a customer of the reseller, and providing appropriate DNS entries to validate the customer and provide origin information to the CDN.
