Abstract: A particulate detergent composition is prepared by spray drying a slurry containing a surfactant system, which may contain anionic surfactants, nonionic surfactants and/or soap, a non-phosphate builder such as an aluminosilicate or an alkalimetal carbonate and a sugar such as sucrose or sorbitol. The sugar provides the powders with adequate structure without the necessity to utilize sodium silicate.

Abstract: Fractionation of glyceride oils is effected by cooling under the influence of homogeneous agitation by stirring, particularly by means of a cylindrical stirrer concentric with a chamber containing the oil, with the development of crystalline agglomerates of lower-melting fractions of the oil which are easily separated from the oil by filtration and if desired by washing. Heavy crops of crystal fractions can be separated containing up to 35 wt % solids, for the preparation for example of margarine fats from vegetable fats which may be hardened before or after fractionation.
Abstract: A non-mushing high lathering synthetic toilet bar comprising, based on the total weight of the actives, 40-85% of C.sub.12 alkane sulfonate, 5-35% of a C.sub.12 natural or synthetic fatty acid, and 5-30% of an additive selected from the group consisting of hydroxyalkane sulfonates, alkylmethyl taurides, hydroxyalkylmethyl taurides, alkyl phosphates, mono-alkyl succinates and maleates, alkane disulfonates, acyl isothionates, alkyl sulfates and alkene sulfonates.

Abstract: Process for preparing a detergent powder composition comprising forming an alkaline aqueous slurry of at least a surface-active agent, a builder salt and an organic activator for peroxy-compounds, and subjecting said aqueous slurry to a spray-drying operation to form a particulate detergent composition having the organic activator homogeneously distributed therein. The particulate detergent composition may be admixed with an inorganic persalt e.g. sodium perborate, and also with an enzyme, e.g. a proteolytic enzyme.
