Abstract: A detergent composition which is suitable for making into bars for personal washing comprises:(a) 10 to 60% wt. of a synthetic, non-soap detergent;(b) 20 to 60% wt. of water soluble material which is neither soap nor a non-soap detergent and which has a melting point in the range 40.degree. C. to 100.degree. C.; and(c) 5 to 50% wt. of water insoluble material which is neither soap nor a non-soap detergent and which has a melting point in the range 40.degree. C. to 100.degree. C. The content of water, if any does not exceed 20% wt. of the composition and better is less than 15% wt. The materials (b) and (c) serve to give structure to the bars. The compositions can be prepared by melting together the above mentioned components at a temperature of 50-100.degree. C., without the conventional energetic working. Desirably the molten mixture contains less than 20% wt. material, other than synthetic, non-soap detergent, which does not enter the liquid phase.

Abstract: A combined wrap around carton, bottle and pouf. The package permits display of the bottle and a pouf simultaneously. The bottle is sufficiently rigid to form a portion of the support of the package. The carton includes a central panel having two ends and product receiving structures at each of its ends. In the erected carton, a first product is received within two product receiving apertures and a second product is placed behind the first one. The package is completed with shrink wrap so that the consumer can view the contents of the package.

Abstract: A bleach and oxidation catalyst is provided comprising a catalytically active metal-complex having a poly-dentate ligand containing at least 6 hetero-atoms. Such metal-complexes can activate hydrogen peroxide, peroxy acids or molecular oxygen and were found to have both favourable stain removal and remarkable dye transfer inhibition properties. In addition, these complexes can be easily prepared.

Abstract: A process for producing a liquid composition containing at least one active component and a diluent by mixing the active with diluent and/or liquid active to produce a liquid crystal mixture and incorporating diluent into it such that the mixture remains substantially homogeneous to produce a composition in which the concentration of active components is lower than the concentration of active components in the liquid crystal mixture. Novel apparatus for use in the process is also described.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a process for the treatment of a surface with a hygiene agent which can include the steps of: a) providing at the surface a non-photochemical catalyst (such as a transition metal compound) which catalyses the formation of the hygiene agent from one or more precursors, whereby the catalyst becomes deposited at the surface, and, b) subsequently treating the surface with a treatment agent (such as a solution of hydrogen peroxide) having the or each hygiene agent precursor, such that the hygiene agent is generated at the surface.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel structuring system comprising both xanthan gum and cross-linked polyacrylic acid polymer which combination unexpectedly has been found to provide enhanced stability for large size benefit agent droplets in an amphoteric/anionic surfactant system relative to use of either structurant alone.

Abstract: A packaged product comprising a plurality of individual containers, a corrugated board or paperboard carrier wall disposed along a portion of the periphery and shrink wrapping. The shrink wrap film has vent holes that are specifically sized and spaced apart as needed to provide adequate venting of one or more volatiles out of the shrinkwrapped multi-pack to prevent package staining and/or discoloration of the package's printing inks. The container wall preferably has an open top and bottom and also has two free edges spaced from each other so as to leave a portion of the periphery uncovered by the wall.
