  • Patent number: 7069183
Abstract: In a process for the monitoring and automatic early fault detection in valves, in particular intake and/or pressure valves, of an oscillating displacement pump, in particular a membrane dosing pump, it is provided that the increased operating noise produced by a leaky valve due to the back-flow of the fluid being pumped in the closed state of the valve is used as a measure for the leakiness of the valve by the generated effective signal level being monitored continuously and compared to a reference signal level formed from the operating noise of the pump with an intact valve, where, at a predefined level deviation or change due to increased operating noise, early fault detection is triggered. A device for carrying out of this process includes a corresponding measuring device, in particular in the form of a vibration acceleration sensor measuring the produced structure-borne sound as well as a comparator device.

  • Patent number: 7000455
Abstract: In a process for the monitoring of leakage in the hydraulic pressure area of a membrane pump, processing is in a manner such that the point in time (t3), at which the snifting process serving for leakage compensation is initiated, is monitored continuously and compared with a reference value (t1), where a predetermined deviation (?t1?t3) between two values (t3 and/or t1) triggers a leakage display.

  • Patent number: 6884045
Abstract: A hydraulically driven diaphragm pump with a diaphragm clamped at its edge between a pump body and a pump cover separating a delivery chamber from a hydraulic chamber and pretensioned in the direction of its intake stroke by spring force. A hydraulic diaphragm drive in the form of an oscillating displacement piston is displaceable in the pump body between a reservoir chamber for the hydraulic fluid and the hydraulic chamber. The diaphragm is so strongly pretensioned by spring force that it exerts a substantial compressive force on the hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic chamber. Therefore a substantial hydrostatic pressure is built up in the hydraulic chamber relative to the delivery chamber.

  • Patent number: 5899671
Abstract: For a hydraulically driven diaphragm pump with a diaphragm consisting of at least two individual layers, these layers are clamped at least in their central area between a coupling part on the feed area side and the hydraulics area side and are thus mechanically linked with one another. The coupling parts are also connected with a relay valve of a leak replenishment system which is attached in the pump body in a moveable manner.

  • Patent number: 5074757
Abstract: In a diaphragm pump with mechanically driven diaphragm and a device for diaphragm rutpure signaling, wherein the diaphragm 2 is clamped at the edge between a pump body 3 and pump cover 4 and is centrally firmly connected with a support plate 5 serving to drive the diaphragm, the design is such that the diaphragm is formed as a multi-layer sandwich diaphragm 2, whose individual layers or diaphragm plies are clamped jointly in the edge region between pump body 3 and pump cover 4. The sandwich diaphragm 2 consists of a working diaphragm 18 with at least one diaphragm ply and a protective diaphragm 20 also with at least one diaphragm ply. The latter is formed so that, with the working diaphragm 18 intact, it is clearly stressed by the delivery pressure less than the working diaphragm 18. Lastly the device for diaphragm rupture signaling has at least one channel 22, 25 disposed between the diaphragms 18, 20 and brought to the outside, for signaling a rupture of the working diaphragm 18.

  • Patent number: 5047950
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for measuring and monitoring the flow in oscillating displacement pumps, the basis for measurement used is the working principle of the pump itself and, accordingly, the mathematically unambiguous relation between the displacer kinematics and the compression or expansion time of the displacer is utilized, in particular via a microcomputer. For this purpose the compression time and expansion time are measured as the time difference between the back and the front dead point position of the plunger, respectively, and the coupling pressure peak at the beginning of the feeding process and the suction process, respectively, which is effected in particular by sensors.

  • Patent number: 4832581
Abstract: In a diaphgram pump with a diaphragm that separates a delivery chamber from a work-chamber filled entirely with fluid medium, and with a piston chamber which is connected to the diaphragm work-chamber by way of at least two passages and in which a displacement piston is reciprocatingly movable to effect the oscillatory actuation of the diaphragm, with the passages for flushing out gas bubbles shaped in such a manner that the mean velocity of flow in each single passage is always aimed in one stroke direction. The arrangement and shape of the passages connecting the work-chamber with the piston chamber is provided here in such a manner that the total resistance to flow of all the passages, made up of the parallel resistances of the individual passages, is different in one direction of flow than that in the other direction of flow, and that thereby there results in all passages a total transport flow for any gas bubbles contained in the fluid medium.

  • Patent number: 4811624
Abstract: In a stroke adjusting device on pumps, in particular proportioning pumps, a hydraulic actuation occurs due to the fact that a hollow shaft, which guides in its interior a sliding shaft, is formed as a hydraulic cylinder, in which the sliding shaft, designed as a double action hydraulic piston, is slidable axially in both directions by means of a hydraulic fluid. Owing to this, the required axial adjusting movement of the sliding shaft is not brought out of the hollow shaft axially to the outside, whereby the two ends of the hollow shaft are kept free for the coupling of several engines or pumps.

  • Patent number: 4430048
Abstract: In a diaphragm pump the diaphragm separating the delivery chamber from the working chamber is clamped between a cylinder body and a cylinder cover in pressure-balancing arrangement. For this purpose a pressure-balancing space is provided to be radially outside and to encircle said diaphragm clamping surface, the pressure balancing space communicating with the working chamber through at least one communicating passage. Furthermore, a separate annular seal member is disposed to be radially outside the pressure balancing space chamber between the cylinder cover and the cylinder body to seal-off the pressure balancing space and the working chamber from the outside. This enables the diaphragm pump to be used at discharge pressures far greater than 350 bars and simultaneously permits the use of plastic diaphragms which are reliable in operation and have a large displacement capacity.
