  • Patent number: 6677702
Abstract: Disclosed is a flat type color cathode ray tube of high quality, which is capable of maintaining a brightness and brightness uniformity of an image while improving contrast, thereby ensuring flatness and visual distinction of the image. The flat type color cathode ray tube comprises a panel having an outer surface which is substantially flat and an inner surface which takes a predetermined curvature. The panel possesses at a center part thereof a transmittance of 45%˜75%, and the inner surface of the panel possesses an on-diagonal-axis curvature RD which satisfies a correlation, 3.5R≦RD≦8.0R where R is a product of 1.767 and a diagonal length of an effective surface along a diagonal axis.

  • Patent number: 6664724
Abstract: In a shadow mask for a color cathode ray tube including a plurality of slots in which electron beams pass, a roughly rectangular-shaped effective surface having long sides and short sides and a skirt portion downwardly curved-extended from the outer surface of the effective surface, wherein a horizontal pitch at the central portion of a shadow mask satisfies a condition of W×0.08%≦Pho≦W×0.086% when a horizontal pitch at the central portion of a shadow mask slot is Pho, a screen effective surface long side length is W and the shadow mask central portion is placed on the center in which the shadow mask effective surface long side is divided into three equal parts. In addition, the shadow mask satisfies a condition of Pho×0.24≦Sw≦Pho×0.30 when a slot horizontal width at the shadow mask central portion is Sw.

  • Publication number: 20030168963
Abstract: In a color cathode ray tube, by optimizing an outer radios of curvature, an inner radius of curvature on a corner portion, a thickness of a long side, a thickness of a short side, a thickness of the corner portion, the total length of the panel, the total length of the funnel body and the total length of a yoke portion of the funnel determining a section shape of the yoke portion of the funnel, a stress concentrated on the yoke portion can be lowered. In addition, according to the increase of an inner radius of curvature of the corner portion of the yoke portion, a crash phenomenon of an electron beam is decreased, and an impact resistance and productivity improvement in fabrication process can be secured by lowering a high stress occurrence on the funnel in vacuum.

  • Publication number: 20030030364
Abstract: A cathode ray tube having a panel with a fluorescent film made of a fluorescent material coated at the inner surface thereof; a cathode mounted in the panel and generating an electron beam; an electron beam controller for controlling and deflecting the electron beam in order to hit the fluorescent film; and a back glass attached to the panel and sealed in a state that the cathode and the electron beam controller are mounted therein, in which a ratio of a minimum thickness of a panel glass to a minimum thickness of a skirt portion of the panel is below 1.0. The full depth of the cathode ray tube is reduced and the weight of the cathode ray tube is minimized by controlling the thickness of the panel glass, the skirt portion of the panel glass and the back glass. In addition, the atmospheric pressure applied to the panel glass and the back glass is uniformly distributed to the panel glass, the back glass and the skirt portion, thereby performing a deformation.
