    Abstract: A low-noise humanoid robotic head system, which can effectively mimic motion of human head, is presented in this invention. The system is a four-degrees-of-freedom (DOF) head that has a 3DOF neck and 1DOF lip. Because the involved mechanical components are limited to cables, cable housings, shaft, fixed pulleys, ball bearing, compression springs, rods, and static base plate, the measured a-weighted noise level of the robotic head system is no more than 30 dB.
