Publication number: 20240000824Abstract: The disclosure relates to synthetic oligonucleotides that bind at least a portion of a dimerization initiation site (DIS) of a retrovirus genomic ribonucleic acid (RNA) molecule. In some aspects, the synthetic oligonucleotides include a 2?-deoxy-2?-fluoroarabinonucleotide (2?-FANA)-modified nucleotide sequence. In some embodiments, the 2?-FANA-modified nucleotide sequence inhibits dimerization of retroviral genomes (e.g., an HIV genome). Other embodiments include methods of inhibiting expression of a retrovirus using the synthetic oligonucleotide, and methods of treating or preventing a retroviral infection.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2023Publication date: January 4, 2024Applicants: CITY OF HOPE, AUM LIFE TECH, INC., THE ROYAL INSTITUTION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF LEARNING/MCGILL UNIVERSITYInventors: John J. Publication number: 20230019258Abstract: Invention relates to a disinfection system which is configured for disinfecting people from the harmful bacteria and viruses that can adhere to the surfaces such as clothes, shoes. More specifically, the present invention relates to a disinfection system which allows efficient usage of the disinfectant fluid by providing maximum effect with the minimum amount of the disinfectant fluid thanks to the spraying unit that can rotate around the human body; can send the particles of disinfection liquid directly to the desired points of the body thus; does not expose the person to excessive disinfectant; moreover, creates hygienic environment for the next disinfection process after each usage by absorbing microorganisms that may be hang in the environment from the previous process thanks to the HEPA filter unit placed in the cabin. Mentioned system is a system that is effective not only on clothes, but also on human skin.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2020Publication date: January 19, 2023Applicant: US Life Tech IncInventor: Serdar Alat

Patent number: 7882737Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide for a foldable container adapted to measure a volume of liquid. The container comprises a box and a bag. The bag is preferably a substantially transparent plastic bag that lines an interior of the box. The box is convertible between a substantially flat configuration and a stable, volume-defining configuration. In one embodiment the box is a substantially transparent plastic box. In another embodiment the box is a paperboard or opaque plastic box having a window comprised of a substantially transparent material. One or more graduations are provided to indicate the volume of liquid in the container when the box is in the volume-defining configuration.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2007Date of Patent: February 8, 2011Assignee: Life-Tech, Inc.Inventors: Alfred C. Publication number: 20070293459Abstract: The present invention discloses an inhibitive effect of Na+—K+-ATPase caused by a compound selected from the group consisting of magnesium lithospermate B (MLB), isomer, prodrug, derivative, pharmaceutically acceptable salt, and a composition thereof. In this invention, the variations of Na+—K+-ATPase activity were monitored with increasing MLB concentrations, and the result shows the Na+—K+ ATPase activity is repressed by MLB. An outcome of the inhibitory effect, the function of cellular sodium/potassium exchanger is reduced and cellular calcium ion concentration is increased. The cerebral ischemia test exhibited MLB provides an effective repression of cell infarct. That is, the MLB is useful for inhibiting the function of cellular Na+—K+ pump, and further brings the utility for cardiac stimulation, diuretic enhancement, heart failure curing, anti-anoxia, neurocyte apoptosis protection, apoplexy prevention and treatment, and so on.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2006Publication date: December 20, 2007Applicant: JASON LIFE TECH INC.
