Abstract: An intravascular filter for use in a body vessel lumen having a longitudinal axis, which may include a plurality of elongate filter members, each of the plurality having a first portion and having a first end and a second end, a plurality of anchoring members, each of the plurality of anchoring members joint to a first end of an elongate filter member, and a filter center portion, each elongate filter member second end joined to the filter center portion, wherein the plurality of elongate filter member first portions may extend radially outward and in a first longitudinal direction when the intravascular filter is disposed in the body vessel lumen, and wherein when the intravascular filter may be disposed in the body vessel lumen, the plurality of elongate filter member first portions are adapted to be moved from extending radially outward and in the first longitudinal direction to extending radially outward and in the second longitudinal direction.
Abstract: An intravascular filter can capture and eliminate emboli. In particular, an intravascular filter may include a plurality of filter legs extending from an apical head. The filter legs may be configured to capture emboli. A drug reservoir that includes or contains a therapeutic drug can be disposed near the apical head. The therapeutic drug, such as a thrombolytic or anti-coagulatory drug, may be eluted in response to a captured emboli.

Abstract: Inflatable intravascular filters for filtering blood clots contained within a blood vessel are disclosed. An inflatable intravascular filter in accordance with an illustrative embodiment of the present invention can include an apical head and one or more inflatable filter legs operatively coupled to the apical head. Each of the inflatable filter legs can include a first end section, a second end section, and an interior cavity adapted to receive an inflation medium for inflating and/or deflating the intravascular filter.
