Patent number: 11021346Abstract: A woven webbing for use in a tiedown or sling for lifting, restraint or other material handling functions. The woven webbing includes a central portion and tubular edges. The central portion has a top surface and an oppositely facing bottom surface. The top surface and bottom surface may be woven in a first pattern for strength and abrasion resistance while remaining flexible. The tubular edges extend from either side of the central portion. The tubular edges may be woven in a second pattern to improve the cut resistance of the tubular edges. The tubular edges have interior cavities which may include twisted floating yarn extending therethrough to enhance the cut resistance of the tubular edges. The tubular edges may include a high modulus yarn material which changes the orientation of the yarn material away from the axial direction of tension when a load is applied to the webbing.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2019Date of Patent: June 1, 2021Assignee: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventors: Gregory S. Patent number: 10494231Abstract: A woven webbing, for use in a tiedown or sling for lifting, restraint or other material handling functions, has a webbing width which extends from a first edge surface of the woven webbing to a second edge surface of the webbing. Visible out of service markers are woven in the woven webbing at designated distances from the edge surfaces. The out of service markers are visually distinct from woven webbing material of the woven webbing. The visible out of service markers serve as a tool for indicating when the amount of damage concentrated along the edge of the webbing has penetrated to a level such that the woven webbing needs to be taken out of service.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2019Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventors: Gregory S. Patent number: 9597996Abstract: A flexible lifting member protection pad includes a cut protection area with strengthening stitching which cooperates with an inner ply and an outer ply to bind the inner ply and the outer ply together in the cut protection area, such that the inner ply, outer ply and strengthening stitching act and move as one piece to increase the combined cutting resistance of the cut protection area. The strengthening stitching is distributed or applied systematically across substantially the entire cut protection area. This configuration allows compression to be generated across the inner ply of the cut protection area when the protection pad is moved against the edge of the load, whereby the inner ply of the cut protection area resists being cut by the edge of the load.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2014Date of Patent: March 21, 2017Assignee: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventor: Gregory S. Patent number: 8540295Abstract: A synthetic roundsling which has an endless load-bearing core with a plurality of loops of synthetic fibers for use in harsh environments. A tubular cover is provided for loosely containing the load-bearing core so that the fibers in the core are movable relative to each other and to the cover. The cover is waterproof to prevent the core from absorbing liquid. The core is prevented from increasing in weight and decreasing in flexibility due to liquid being absorbed by the core, thereby insuring that the roundsling will stay light and flexible even in harsh environmental conditions. A second, outer cover may provide additional protection to the core to protect the core from physical damage.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2010Date of Patent: September 24, 2013Assignee: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventor: Gregory Babinchak

Publication number: 20030116984Abstract: The invention is a plate with three holes to function as a winch line attachment point and a length and angular adjustment for a chain attached to separated locations on a vehicle. One large hole is used to receive the winch line hook, and two smaller holes with angularly oriented chain locking slots are used to adjust the length of the chain attached to the towed vehicle. The material around the holes is reduced to the minimum size necessary to safely meet the rated towing capacity so that the weight of the plate is minimized.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2001Publication date: June 26, 2003Applicant: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventors: Mark A. Patent number: 6422624Abstract: The apparatus is a wire rope roundsling loop with an inspection window. The tubular cover on wire rope roundslings normally prevents visual inspection of the core to find damage or corrosion on the wire rope. The invention provides an open window in the cover over the core which can easily be worked around the roundsling to inspect the entire loop. An added feature is a window cover which is sewn on the cover in the region of the window and can be fastened closed to protect the wire rope and the window.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2001Date of Patent: July 23, 2002Assignee: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey A. Patent number: 5660423Abstract: The apparatus is an abrasion guard for the webbing used with a lifting sling fitting. The abrasion guard is essentially a rod of polyethylene with a slot along one entire longitudinal edge and extensions or "ears" on both ends of the rod. The extensions have vertical slots centered on their outside edges. The shape permits a properly dimensioned guard to be snapped onto and around the inner edge of the straight bar of a "D" ring fitting, with the extensions extending up along the sides of the "D" ring. The extensions are made large enough in the dimension transverse to the plane of the "D" ring so that they extend beyond the thickness of the webbing looped around the straight bar of the ring and the abrasion guard. The extensions thereby act as skids to protect the webbing from damage as the ring is moved across an abrasive surface.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1996Date of Patent: August 26, 1997Assignee: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventors: Mark A. Patent number: 5113551Abstract: A method and apparatus for assuring that a swaged fitting which is compressed upon a cable or holds an assembly together has been properly processed. A coating which changes when pressure is applied to it is placed on the outside of the swage fitting before it is subjected to the swaging step of the assembly procedure. This coating is then damaged, discolored or otherwise modified by the pressure applied to the swage fitting during swaging, so that a simple visual inspection can determine if an assembly has missed the swaging operation.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1990Date of Patent: May 19, 1992Assignee: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventor: John D. Patent number: 4941698Abstract: A lifting plate for chains. A simple plate with three separate openings. A center opening has a rounded shape, is high on the plate and has a narrow slot extending down the plate centerline to form a balloon-like outline. The other two smaller openings have wide upper portions with narrow slots extending downward and are located in a balanced configuration on either side of the lower slot of the larger hole. The upper parts of the smaller holes are sized too small to permit the chain end hooks to freely pass through, but they are located closed enough to the edge of the plate to permit the hooks to be moved through the holes by twisting them through. The three holed configuration permits creating double chain slings with different lengths of chain in each leg and storing the excess chain between the holes.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1988Date of Patent: July 17, 1990Assignee: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey M. Patent number: 4025100Abstract: A sling particularly adapted for use in hoisting heavy objects. The sling is formed in a predetermined length and has loops at each end for connection to the hoisting equipment or for looping the sling about the load which is to be hoisted. The sling comprises a synthetic fabric which, according to the invention, is woven in three plies in which each ply comprises chain warps extending throughout the length of the ply, the plies being interconnected both by the filling yarns and by connecting binder warps. The fabric incorporates load-carrying yarns disposed on opposite sides of the central ply between the central ply and the outer ply. The loadcarrying yarns are rigid, continuous filament yarns, whereas the warp yarns in at least the outer plies are textured yarns, preferably bulked synthetic carpet yarns. The warp yarns in the central ply are preferably dyed to a contrasting color which may serve to signal the occurrence of wear in the fabric.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1976Date of Patent: May 24, 1977Assignee: Lift-All Company, Inc.Inventor: Scott Bridgehouse
