Abstract: A sequence of images received from a camera is recorded according to a first procedure. The images are analyzed to identify events of interest, and upon identifying an event of interest, an area of interest of a plurality of said images is identified. The identified area is recorded according to a second procedure.

Abstract: Graphical output representing the activity of a plurality of monitoring detection devices over a region is displayed. The detection devices are represented as an array of regular polygons in an arrangement substantially analogous to the monitored region, and a characteristic of the graphical output is adjusted within a displayed polygon by a degree dependent upon the level of activity detected by its respective detection device.

Abstract: A macro video analysis system including a first connection to a first persistent database of a first video analysis system monitoring a first remote location, a second connection to a second persistent database of a second video analysis system monitoring a second remote location, a macro persistent database archiving a respective event generated by each the first remote video analysis system monitoring the first remote location and the second video analysis system monitoring the second remote location and wherein each respective event is respectively transmitted through the first connection and the second connection, and a database query module to evaluate the events.

Abstract: An environment is monitored by capturing image data depicting the environment and analysing the image data to identify moving foreground objects. Upon identifying an object, the movement of said object is tracked, and graphical output data is generated providing a representation of the movement superimposed upon a representation of said environment.
Abstract: A video analysis system including a video output device monitoring an area for activity, a video analyzer processing output of the video output device and identifying an event in near-real-time, and a persistent database archiving the event for an operational lifetime of the video analysis system and accessible in near-real-time.
