  • Patent number: 8500299
Abstract: A narrow angle LED illuminated spotlight in which the light-emitting output of an LED light source is coupled with an optic element, in the form of a focusing reflector or focusing lens, and a masking element is interposed between the light source and the optic element to partially mask off the output area of the light source and significantly reduce the area of the emitted light reaching the optic element. This enables the light passed by the masking element to be concentrated into a, narrow beam (i.e., 18° or less) using an optic element of much smaller size than otherwise, thus making the use of an LED light source module a practical source of light for narrow beam spotlights.

  • Patent number: 7850363
Abstract: An adjustable track lighting fixture of a type having rotary locking lever for securing the fixture to a bus bar, where the locking lever is economically formed with an internal confinement facility of removably housing an Allen key to be retained with the fixture and used for locking the adjustments of the fixture when desired. A spring, also housed internally of the locking lever, resiliently but releasably retains the Allen key until purposefully withdrawn by a workman. The key is returned to its confinement after the workman has finished using it for the purposes intended. The key is retained in an inconspicuous manner but nevertheless visible to the workman and readily extracted for use when desired.

  • Patent number: 7744386
Abstract: An electrical busway system comprising a busway uniquely configured for cutting to length in the field. Special connector devices are also disclosed, with features for engaging and immobilizing busway insulators to assure accurate initial alignment of conductors and contact elements prior to joining of connector devices with busway sections. An accessory device, specially adapted to the new busway design, includes a rotatable contact element, slideably received in its rotatable support, which progressively displaces a spring as the contact element is rotated into contact with a busbar carried by a busway insulator. Good electrical contact at both ends of the slideable contact element is assured.

  • Patent number: 7011439
Abstract: An adjustable spotlight fitting for use with an illuminated fiber optic bundle. A spherically contoured pivot element is received within a pivot housing and retained therein by an adjustable locking ring which clamps the pivot element in any angularly adjusted position. A focusing member is mounted by the pivot element for limited axial adjusting movement in relation thereto. A fiber optic bundle is inserted through the back of the pivot element and the exposed optical fibers at its terminal end are positioned within the focusing member. A lens, carried at the outer end of the focusing member, is movable by the focusing member toward and away from the fiber optic bundle for converging and expanding the area of illumination. Optical filters can be selectively installed behind the lens for various lighting effects.

  • Patent number: 6942368
Abstract: An accessory cartridge for removable reception in a specialized lighting fixture. A circular cartridge ring is provided with an internal lower flange, for supporting one or more flat, circular, disc-like accessory elements, such as filters. Retainer clips are positioned to engage at least the uppermost one of the disc-like accessory elements, such that one or more of the disc-like accessory elements may be easily installed within the cartridge ring and the entire series thereof automatically retained therein by engagement of at least the uppermost accessory element. The entire cartridge is designed to be bodily installed in or removed from the lighting fixture, to facilitate expeditious changing of accessory elements utilized with the lighting fixture. Preferentially, the lighting fixture is provided with a hingedly connected front barrel portion, which is constructed to receive and support the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 6875036
Abstract: A multi-purpose plug-in lamp socket for selectively mounting and electrically connecting lamps of different types, such as PAR36 and AR111 lamps. These lamps, which are extensively used in low voltage commercial and theatrical lighting, are similar in size but have entirely different configurations of contact elements. Typically, they are mounted by seating peripheral flanges of the lamps and separately electrically connecting the contact elements using slide-on contacts and/or spade lugs or the like secured by screws. The disclosure relates to a simple, unitary lamp socket which accommodates plug-in reception and removal of either of the above mentioned styles of lamp, simultaneously mounting and electrically connecting the lamps for use. Strip-like contact elements, mounted at the back of the lamp bodies, are gripped by contact clips mounted in a socket body.
