  • Patent number: 7342513
Abstract: A wireless communications system suitable for use within an aircraft, such as a part of a wireless emergency lighting system (WELS) is provided. In an aircraft, EXIT signs are located throughout the interior of the aircraft, including the ceiling (general illumination), seats (floor proximity) and EXIT doors (locator/identifier). A wireless communications system uses an integrated lens antenna system that takes advantage of the quantity and location of emergency lights such that any given light will have a direct radio frequency (RF) path to several other lights. A virtual network can be created such that if the path between any two lights becomes disrupted, alternate paths will be constructed under software control.

  • Patent number: 7293895
Abstract: A modular lighting system is formed of tubular fluorescent lamps mounted within adjustable fixtures. The fixtures are composed of rigid and flexible elements and can conform to the shape of almost any size or shape of lamp. The lamps may be of any variety of pre-determined shape, curvature or length, to meet the desired lighting requirement. Each fixture may include a lampholder, lamp retention device, mounting surface, ballast, enclosures, and specially-molded flexible special power cable which flexibly connects the rigid elements or assemblies of each fixture. Electrical connections are made between each adjacent fixture with integral male and female flexible power cords. Thus, a custom-made fluorescent lighting system is created using standardized flexibly adjustable fixtures and any variety of lamp shapes or lengths. The system may be installed and electrically connected without any disassembly or tradition field-assembled and installed wiring, minimizing effort for installation or removal.

  • Patent number: 7092257
Abstract: A lighting track apparatus includes elongated colored tubes which are easily bent into stable curved shapes to custom shape and fit sections of the apparatus into a track lighting system. Plural elongated electrical conductors are mechanically flexible and able to support low voltage lighting currents without significant temperature rise. An elongated non-conducting mechanical support is highly flexible so as to accept the shape of the tubes when bent. It engages with the tubes and the electrical conductors, whereby, the apparatus is easily formed into a curved shape that retains a selected curvature. A lamp or other appliance can be mounted on the apparatus, electrically contacting the conductors for power. The mechanical support is transparent so that the tubes may be seen.
