Patents Assigned to Lightpoint Surgical Ltd.
  • Patent number: 12205490
Abstract: The present application provides apparatus for simulating radio-guided surgery using a light source (8) and a probe (13) having a light detector (16). Specifically, the apparatus includes a subject model (1) that has an enclosure (6) with an opening (4, 5) that extends from an exterior of the subject model (1) into the enclosure (6). The subject model (1) also includes a light source (8) that is disposed within the enclosure (6). The apparatus also includes a probe (13) for deployment by a user through the opening (4, 5) into the enclosure (6). The probe (13) has a light detector (16) configured to detect light emitted by the light source (8) for localization of the light source (8) within the enclosure (6).

  • Publication number: 20240341794
Abstract: A tethered laparoscopic probe for deployment through a trocar into a cavity of a subject includes a probe head shaped for insertion through the trocar. The probe head includes an elongated casing and a sensor arranged within the casing. The sensor defines a sensing direction of the probe head. The tethered laparoscopic probe also includes a tether coupled to the probe head and for, in use, tethering the probe head through the trocar, and a collar grip fitted to the tether. The collar grip is grippable by jaws of a surgical instrument and includes a first plurality of fins grippable by jaws of a surgical instrument. The first plurality of fins extend in a radial direction and a circumferential direction from the collar grip.

  • Patent number: 12070238
Abstract: A tethered laparoscopic probe for deployment through a trocar into a cavity of a subject and manipulatable by fenestrated laparoscopic graspers includes opposing fenestrated jaws. The tethered laparoscopic probe also includes a probe head shaped for insertion through the trocar and including an elongated casing, a sensor arranged within the casing and defining a sensing direction of the probe head, and a grip for secure grasping by the fenestrated laparoscopic graspers. The grip has protrusions for mating with the fenestrated jaws. The tethered laparoscopic probe further includes a tether coupled to the probe head. The protrusions are positioned and shaped to enable the grip to be grasped securely by the fenestrated laparoscopic graspers at a first angle relative to the sensing direction of the probe head and at a second angle relative to the sensing direction of the probe head, the second angle being different from the first angle.

  • Patent number: 11963807
Abstract: A tethered laparoscopic probe is provided, the tethered laparoscopic probe for deployment through a trocar into a cavity of a subject to detect gamma radiation from a radiopharmaceutical administered to the subject. The laparoscopic probe comprises a probe head shaped for insertion through the trocar and configured to be freely moveable within the cavity. The probe head comprises an elongate casing comprising radiation shielding for inhibiting gamma radiation from passing through the probe head, the radiation shielding having a detection aperture for admitting gamma radiation. The probe head further comprises a gamma radiation detector arranged within the casing, the gamma radiation detector configured to detect gamma radiation through the detection aperture of the casing. The probe head further comprises means for, in use, facilitating the localization of a source of radiation from the radiopharmaceutical within the cavity.
