    Abstract: An indole-based compound represented by Formula (1) disclosed herein is useful in forming a light emitting material for an organic electroluminescent device. The organic electroluminescent device has a multi-layered structure comprising a cathode, an anode and at least one organic layer, wherein the at least one organic layer comprises the indole-based compound. The indole-based compound contains two light-emitting units, each having an indole-based structure, linked with a connecting unit, which is an arylamine. The color of the light emitted by the light emitting material can be adjusted by changing the connecting unit.
