  • Publication number: 20130043778
Abstract: An apparatus for protecting an electronic device includes a first protective cover component and a second protective component that may be removably coupled to one another. The second protective cover component includes a hinge component having a flexible hinge portion extending from a peripheral portion of the second protective cover component, wherein the hinge component facilitates coupling of the second protective cover component to the first protective cover component. One of the first protective cover component and the second protective cover component include a region configured to receive the electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20100302757
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an AC power adapter for providing voltage to an electrically-operated device includes a power converter module electrically coupled to a power source via at least one hot lead and at least one neutral lead. The power converter module is configured to convert voltage received from the power source to voltage suitable for use by the electrically-operated device. The AC power adapter also includes a relay circuit coupled to the hot lead to control the voltage passing from the power source to the power converter module.

  • Patent number: 7575329
Abstract: A compact and portable device uniformly illuminates and magnifies the words, images, or other information on a surface, such as the words on a page of a book, while minimizing the amount of light transmitted beyond or away from the illuminated surface. The device employs a light transmitting body formed of a transparent light conductive material and a magnifying lens. The device also employs a housing with a light source and a power source for powering the light source. To receive and deflect light from the light source onto the underlying surface, the light transmitting body is configured to have a wedge shape tapering from a thicker edge to a thinner edge. The wedge-shaped light transmitting body and the magnifying lens may be integrally formed to allow seamless transmission of light between the light transmitting body and the magnifying lens.

  • Patent number: 6951403
Abstract: A device for illuminating a generally flat surface essentially without emitting significant light beyond the surface is particularly adapted for use as a book light. The device comprises a battery-operated light source contained within a housing to which a transparent light-conductive illuminating body is mounted in close adjacency to the light source to transmit the light through the illuminating body. The device may be placed with the illuminating body over a book or other flat surface for illuminated viewing through the transparent illuminating body. The illuminating body is tapered in a wedge shape to deflect the conducted light onto the underlying surface.
