The ramps direct air entering the duct through columnating orifices, and helps to provide an even flow of air out of the orifices, along the length of the duct. The angle of the ramp and the location of the ramp within the duct can be adjustable.

Abstract: An oven for heating, cooking, or toasting a food product. The oven can comprise a conveyor for conveying the food product, and a parabolically shaped top surface with a plurality of reflectors connected thereto, to direct heat back toward the conveyor. The oven can also comprise a fan for circulating air within the oven cavity. The oven can also comprise a controller that can place the oven in an energy savings mode, when it detects that the oven is not in use. The controller can place the oven in energy savings mode by adjusting the speed of, or shutting off the conveyor, or by adjusting the amount of energy supplied to heating elements disposed within the oven.

Abstract: A cooking device and method that conserves power consumption. The cooking device includes a controller that runs a program that controls the cooking device to changeover from a cook mode to an idle mode when food products are being cooked. The cooking device has a conveyor that conveys food products along a cooking passageway between an inlet and an outlet. A sensing device provides an output indicative of the presence and/or absence of food products on the conveyor. The controller responds to the output to lower the power consumption of the cooking device during the idle mode by operating heating devices and/or fans with lower power.

Abstract: A conveyor oven in which a heated circulating air stream provides impingement air toward a conveyor, which is turned to flow horizontally along the conveyor toward an inlet and/or an outlet thereof. The conveyor oven includes a ductwork that provides a positive pressure airflow to form the impingement air as well as a positive pressure a second air flow that intersects with the horizontal air flow with a more positive pressure adjacent the inlet and/or outlet to redirect the horizontal airflow toward an air return plenum so as to substantially reduce the escape of heat to ambient.
