Patent number: 7320516Abstract: There is described an apparatus and a fixture used in determining position and for producing assembling holes in a spectacle lens for rimless spectacles. The assembling holes are intended for receiving a U-shaped bracket which is used in fastening bridge and side bar hinge. The apparatus and fixture includes interacting guide pins and guide holes. These guide holes/pins are unambiguously disposed. The guide holes will preferably be placed symmetrically in relation to a hole center line for the lens, when this is placed in the fixation opening of the fixture with the hole center line disposed opposite to markings at the fixation opening. The assembling holes are thus placed symmetrically in relation to the marking. By such a system it is possible to make rimless spectacles that appear very accurate, without special skilled qualifications on the part of the optician to make assembling holes in the lenses.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2004Date of Patent: January 22, 2008Assignee: Lindberg A/SInventors: Flemming Kroman, Lars Bøjvad Jensen

Patent number: 6554423Abstract: A pair of spectacles comprises two support elements (7) for engaging the nose of the wearer. Each support element comprises a pad (8) of an elastic material, a reinforcement member (22) and a peg (13) adapted for being received in the eyelet. The reinforcement member and the peg are adapted for mutual snap fitting engagement. The peg relieves the pad of any tensile forces and makes it feasible to select for the pad a very soft and comfortable material. Easy mounting and safe retention are provided. The invention further comprises a blank for the manufacturing of the peg, and a method of manufacturing a pair of spectacles.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2002Date of Patent: April 29, 2003Assignee: Lindberg A/SInventor: Flemming Kroman

Patent number: 6536897Abstract: A pair of spectacles comprises two support elements (7) for engaging the nose of the wearer. Each support element comprises a pad (8) of an elastic material secured to a shank (10) with an enlarged head (11) adapted for retaining the support element relative to the rest of the spectacles by way of inserting the shank through said eyelet of the frame. According to the invention a peg (13) is inserted into the head end of the shank for providing a hard core inside at least part of the shank. Thus, easy mounting and safe retention are provided. The invention further comprises a blank for the manufacturing of the peg, and a method of manufacturing a pair of spectacles.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1999Date of Patent: March 25, 2003Assignee: Lindberg A/SInventor: Flemming Kroman

Patent number: 6260965Abstract: An eyeglass frame comprising a frame front, a pair of temple bars and respective hinge means, adapted to provide a pivotal connection of each temple bar with the frame front. According to the invention each hinge means comprises a cooperating pair of friction members (13,15) and a spring means (13) adapted for applying balanced, radially directed biasing forces onto the cooperating pair of frictions members. Hereby any play in the hinge is eliminated and the friction is maintained. Further the invention provides an eyeglass and a method of manufacturing an eyeglass.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2000Date of Patent: July 17, 2001Assignee: Lindberg A/SInventors: Flemming Kroman, Lars Bøjvad Jensen
