Abstract: [Object] To propose an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program, which are capable of preventing deterioration in responsiveness of handwriting input. [Solution] Provided is an information processing apparatus including: an acquisition unit configured to acquire a detection result from a detector that detects proximity of an operating object to an operation subject; and a display controller configured to, in a case where the display controller recognizes that a distance between the operation subject and the operating object, which are spaced apart from each other, exceeds a threshold on the basis of the detection result, cause a display to display an image in a display mode different from a display mode used in a case where the distance is less than or equal to the threshold.
