Abstract: A toothbrush having a handle and at one end having a bristle-bearing head which is in the form of one or more segments which are flexibly and/or resiliently linked to each other. Optionally, the head may also be flexibly and/or resiliently linked to the handle. The grooves between the linked segments of the head are wholly or partly filled with an elastomeric material. In one aspect, the bristle-bearing head of the toothbrush is attached to the handle by a frame which wholly or partly surrounds the head and is an integral extension of the handle.

Abstract: A transparent liquid dentifrice which comprises a particulate silica abrasive material present in from 10 to 15% by weight of the composition, stably suspended in an aqueous liquid vehicle with the aid of a suspending agent; and a humectant system which consists essentially of sorbitol, present in from 50 to 55% by weight of the composition (measured as the 100% active), and polyethylene glycol with average molecular weight in the range 200 to 600, present in from 0.5 to 3% by weight of the composition.

Abstract: A cap 2 for a dispensing container 1 for a liquid, has an outlet orifice 9 sealable by a plug 15 formed on a flexible band 11 which is hingedly attached 16, 20 to the cap and which, when the plug 15 is removed from the orifice 9, forms a hanging support for the container 1, the band lying in the same vertical plane in both the open and closed positions.The cap is useful for containers for shower gels and the like, where it is necessary to hang the container from a support during use.The cap can also be adapted to contain two orifices each serving a separate compartment of a twin-compartment pack.

Abstract: A stick for the application of adhesive material to a substrate, comprising an adhesive dissolved or dispersed in a liquid medium containing an alkali metal or ammonium salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having from 8 to 36 carbon atoms, characterized in that the adhesive comprises a mixture of (i) an aqueous dispersion of an optionally carboxylated (C.sub.4 to C.sub.10)-alkyl ester of acrylic acid and (ii) an aqueous dispersion of polyethylene.The stick enables articles to be removably bonded to substrates without leaving a film of adhesive on the substrate after removal.

Abstract: The invention relates to a container for flowable or otherwise extrudable materials, the container having a discharge barrier which comprises a dividing wall dividing the container space into an outer chamber which is in communication with a dispensing opening of the container and into a storage chamber in which the contents can be subjected to pressure for dispensing from the opening and can thereafter again be relieved of pressure. The dividing wall is formed with a membrane section having at least one valve opening which upon pressure loading of the membrane section from the side of the storage chamber opens against a restoring force exerted by a membrane mounting and which upon relief from pressure automatically closes again under the restoring force. The dividing wall is also formed with a holding element which is connected to the container in a manner that takes up manufacturing tolerances.
