Abstract: A multi-level intersegmental stabilization implant for a facet joint of a first vertebra includes a lower retainer module having a transfacetal fastener and an upper retainer module having a second fastener configured for fastening through the pedicle of an upper vertebra. The lower and upper retainer modules are connected by an elongated carrier element dimensioned such as to span across at least two vertebrae. The transfacetal fastener is configured as a screw having a head and a shaft ending with a tip, the shaft being provided with a thread at least in a region near its tip such that it engages exclusively the lower section of the facet joint, wherein a washer is provided co-operatively connected with the transfacetal fastener, the washer being configured for bearing on an outer surface of the upper section of the facet joint.

  • Publication number: 20190053833
Abstract: A stabilization implant for a facet joint of a first vertebrae includes a support module and a transfacetal fastener, wherein the support module is provided on either side with a holder for the transfacetal fastener, the transfacetal fastener having a head and a main body traversing the facet joint. The transfacetal fastener may include a super-head to form a stacked double-head arrangement, a top carrier on a top side of the transfacetal fastener, and an upward extension element, which is pivotally attached to the top carrier and which reaches upward and has a fixation portion at its upper end, the fixation portion configured for an oblique fastening to cortical structure of a second, adjacent upper vertebrae.

  • Publication number: 20190021873
Abstract: An intervertebral implant comprising at least two mounting surfaces facing away from each other, for mounting on facing vertebral body surfaces of two adjacent vertebrae, a distance between the two mounting surfaces being modifiable by means of an expansion device arranged between the mounting surfaces and comprising at least one actuating element, the expansion device comprising at least two pivotable lever elements which are connected to each other by means of a rotational shaft in a scissor-type manner, at least one widening component configured to open up the lever elements, and at least one securing element, the securing element configured to fix the minimum widening of the lever elements. The structure of the intervertebral implant provides a high load-bearing capacity and a high level of strength development in addition to a sufficiently large total height adjustment during the expansion thereof. Furthermore, a lordosis angle can be adjusted.
