Abstract: Disclosed is a scalable, hierarchical, distributed network architecture and processes for the delivery of high-performance, end-to-end online multimedia services, including Internet services such as World Wide Web access. The network architecture connects a high-speed private backbone to multiple network access points of the Internet, to a network operation center, to a back office system, and to multiple regional servers in regional data centers. Each of the regional servers connects to several caching servers in modified head-ends, which in turn connect via fiber optics to many neighborhood nodes. Finally, each node connects via coaxial cable to multiple end-user systems. The processes include those for replicating and caching frequently-accessed content, and multicasting content customized per region or locality.
Abstract: Provided herein are methods of inducing tolerance or reducing an immune response to a foreign antigen in a human subject. The methods include administering anti-CD4 antibodies or CD4-binding fragments thereof or CD4-binding molecules, and the foreign antigen to the human subject.

Abstract: A folded optical element waveguide that allows a minimum width bezel to be used around the perimeter of a light-based touch screen display. The apparatus and method includes a touch screen and a waveguide substrate provided adjacent the touch screen. The waveguide substrate includes a plurality of waveguides and a plurality of optical elements provided adjacent the touch screen. The waveguides include an internally reflective surface to reflect light perpendicular to the surface of the touch screen. The emitting and detecting waveguides are thus folded and provided around the side edges of the display. As a result, the width of the bezel around the display can be minimized.
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media are disclosed for enabling a user of data services over a network to automatically register for such services by plugging in a set-top box, such as an advanced set-top box, or other IP clients such as a Web pad, and entering certain information through a member services screen. The invention also allows a user to have several accounts distributed over several set-top boxes or IP clients and have all accounts map to a single network identity. That is, it allows a user to have multiple viewer identities for different purposes yet have all of them map back to a single network identity for that user.
