Abstract: A hurdle with a riser assembly having a gate board attached to movable gate tubes that telescope upon uprights and with a cross support between the trailing ends of the legs has a height adjustment system that includes a pedal in the cross support. Depressing the pedal retracts spring loaded posts to allow a user to hold and move the gate board up or down with the hands.

Abstract: A vaulting pole has seven layers. The first layer is a helical E-glass tape, the second layer is a crosswise helical E-glass tape, the third layer is an UHP-glass body wrap, the fourth layer is an S-glass body wrap, the fifth layer is a carbon fiber body wrap, the sixth layer is an S-glass body wrap, and the seventh layer is an S-glass trapezoidal sail piece.

Abstract: A basketball goal assembly includes a suspended vertical mast, a backstop, a rim, at least one mounting bracket, at least two U-bolts straddling the mast for attaching the goal to the mast, and a safety bracket. The safety bracket straddles a U-bolt. The safety bracket reduces the possibility of the goal falling off the mast and also provides a visual indicator when the goal has begun to slip downward.

Abstract: A discus has a top plate formed of a perforated aluminum sheet fused with carbon fiber, a bottom plate formed of a perforated aluminum sheet fused with carbon fiber, a weighted spool between the top plate and the bottom plate, and a ring connecting the top plate to the bottom plate.

Abstract: A wall pad sleeve is assembled from four corner pieces and four side rails. Each corner piece and each side rail forms a channel with a base, a front flange, and a rear flange. When installed, the flanges cover a portion of the front face of the wall pad and a portion of the rear face of the wall pad.

Abstract: A docking tray for receiving a basketball goal includes: (a) a base having a front, a rear, and two sides, the front being wider than the rear and the two sides narrowing from front to rear; (b) two side walls extending upwardly along the sides of the base; (c) a rear wall extending upwardly along the rear of the base, the base, side walls, and rear wall forming an enclosure for a rear wheel of a basketball goal; and (d) a retainer for engaging, orienting, and securing a base of a basketball goal.

Abstract: A hurdle with movable gate tubes that telescope upon uprights has an automatically movable counterweight inside each leg. Each counterweight is attached to two cables. The first cable runs from the leading end of the counterweight to a cable guide inside the leading end of each leg, then to a cable guide at the intersection of the leg and the upright, then to an actuating rod. The second cable runs from the trailing end of the counterweight to a cable guide at the intersection of the leg and the upright, then to a cable guide near the top of the upright, and then to the actuating rod.

Abstract: An adjustable height hurdle has a wall with a plurality of vertically spaced apart bores inside each upright. A vertical actuator inside each upright and gate tube engages the bores. The exteriors of the uprights and gate tubes are solid so that no dirt or water enters the interior of the hurdle.

Abstract: A safety collar for a vault box reduces the risk of catastrophic injury if the pole vaulter lands directly onto the vault box, but does not make it more difficult for the pole vaulter to plant the pole into the vault box. The safety collar overlies the vault box and an area to the rear and the sides of the vault box. The collar has a front, a rear, a left side, a right side, and an opening extending from the front to the rear that overlies the recess of the vault box. The collar also has a left wing extending downwardly against the left wall of the vault box part way to the bottom surface and part way to the rear wall and a right wing extending downwardly against the right wall of the vault box part way to the bottom surface and part way to the rear wall.
