Abstract: Systems and methods consistent with various disclosed embodiments provide for managing email attachments. In one embodiment, a system is disclosed for managing email attachments. The system may include a memory storing software instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the software instructions to perform one or more operations. The operations may include providing an interface for converting an original attachment to an email. The operations may also include converting the original attachment to a modified attachment based on input received through the interface. The operations may further include substituting the original attachment to the email with the modified attachment, and providing information to send the email with the modified attachment.

In one implementation, a system receives a first file and a second file for comparison. The system determines the annotation ranges for each annotation in the first file and the annotation range for each annotation in the second file. The system then determines the annotations from the first file that overlap with annotations from the second file and compares annotations that overlap. The system then incorporates the comparison of the annotations into a main comparison file. In certain implementations, the system uses an index to determine what annotations overlap. In other implementations, matched pairs are created from overlapping annotations.

The bidirectional communications allows an operation to be performed on a file using a computing device and an external server. In one implementation, an application resides on a desktop computer that is connected to the Internet. The application sends a request to an external server accessible through the Internet using a bidirectional communication system. The server accepts and processes the request and provides data back to the computer via the same bidirectional communication system. A user may then access the data, manipulate it and provide an additional request to the server via the bidirectional communication system.

Abstract: A computer software product for allowing simultaneous multi-level collaboration, including in real time between an author and a group of reviewers invited by the author to comment on a document stored in a computer file. The computer software enables each reviewer to view the document and make changes thereto which are stored in a secondary data file without modifying the contents of the original document. The author receives and views the secondary data files from the reviewers and selectively incorporates the changes into the document. Each reviewer may invite an unlimited number of sub-reviewers to review the document, the comments of each sub-reviewer similarly being stored in a secondary data file wherein only the author may edit the document directly.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for comparing selections of text to show differences between the two selections. The text may be selected from the same source or from two different sources. In one implementation, a system receives a first selection of text for comparison and places the selection in a first buffer. The system receives a second selection of text for comparison and places the second selection in a second buffer. The system compares the first buffer and the second buffer to determine differences and displays the differences. In some embodiments, the system may allow a user to choose two buffers from among a plurality of buffers for comparison.

Abstract: A method and system for removing metadata from email attachments sent from mobile devices includes receiving an email with an attached document. The attached document has metadata removed to create a cleansed version of the attached document. The attached document is replaced by the cleansed version of the attached document, and the email is sent according to the address or addresses included in the email.

Abstract: A method and system for comparing compound documents. An original compound document and a modified compound document are analyzed to determine and mark the location of embedded objects. A comparison is performed between an original primary document and the modified primary document, ignoring the embedded objects, the output of which is a comparison output document. The embedded objects are compared by copying the contents of the embedded objects to compatible documents, comparing the embedded object from the original compound document and the embedded object from the modified compound document, the output of which is inserted into the comparison output document using the location markers of the embedded objects.
