Patents Assigned to Litronik Batterietechnologie GmbH & Co.
  • Patent number: 6044295
Abstract: An implantable multi-function medical device, having a first therapy assembly that has a small current requirement and a second therapy assembly that has a large current requirement. The device further has a first battery component that is adapted to a consumer having a low current requirement, and a second battery component that is adapted to a consumer having a large current requirement, and a switching device which connects the second battery component only to the second therapy assembly until a control signal is emitted, which indicates that a predetermined voltage level of the first battery component has not been met, or that an internal resistance has been exceeded, but, as of this time, the switching device connects the second battery component to the first therapy assembly.

  • Patent number: 5713936
Abstract: A battery-operated implantable medical device comprises a battery, a measuring device for determining the state of charge of the battery through measurement of the no-load voltage, and an electric load. The no-load voltage of the battery has an increased drop in a range in which a remaining residual energy suffices to keep the operation of the device going for a minimum period of time required to carry out a therapeutic process.

  • Patent number: 5587258
Abstract: A sealed galvanic cell which has high power and energy densities, a low self discharge, and an open circuit voltage which is related to state of discharge, and which is useful for supplying electrical power to an implantable device, such as a defibrillator and a nerve stimulator, with a large current consumption, and method of making same. The galvanic cell includes a casing; a cathode unit having at least one electrode composed of a mixture of at least one metal oxide and at least one lead compound; an anode unit having at least one electrode comprised of an alkali metal; and an organic electrolyte comprised of a mixture of (a) ethylene- and/or propylene carbonate, (b), 2-dimethoxyethane, and (c) a conducting salt. The mixture of the cathode unit is one of (a) a mixture of CrO.sub.x (x=2.5 to 2.7) and at least one lead compound from among PbCrO.sub.4, PbMoO.sub.4 and PbO, (b) a mixture of CrO.sub.x (x=2.5 to 2.7), MnO.sub.2, and at least one lead compound from among PbCrO.sub.4, PbMoO.sub.
