Abstract: Systems and methods for remote storage of electronic data are described. One aspect of one described method includes receiving a signal from a client processor, the signal includes information relating to a file and an action. The method also includes accessing a record in a database based at least in part on the information relating to a file, and determining whether to manipulate the record or the file stored on a separate processor based at least in part on the action, and updating the record or the file based at least in part on the information.
