Abstract: Various embodiments of the disclosure relate to minimizing data usage over a communication link. A system may include a back-end network configured to: receive, via a first connection, a video stream from at least one camera; transmit, via one or more second connections, the video stream to one or more user devices; cause the video stream from the back-end network to a user device of the one or more user devices to be terminated; and cause the video stream from the at least one camera to the back-end network to be terminated in response to determining that the back-end network is not transmitting the video stream to at least one user device of the one or more user devices. Associated methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: Various embodiments relate to mobile units. A mobile unit may include a number of electronic devices including a processor, a number of loads, and a modem. The mobile unit may further include a circuit board including the processor and logic configured to reset the processor, at least one load of the number of loads, and/or the modem responsive to receipt of a reset signal. The circuit board may also include a power switch-over circuit coupled to the processor and the logic and configured to switch power to at least some of the number of electronic devices from a primary battery to a secondary battery or from the secondary battery to the primary battery. Further, the circuit board may include a charge controller coupled to the secondary battery and configured to limit an amount of current conveyed to the secondary battery. Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are related to minimize data usage over a costly or slow communication link. When a user is not watching a video stream, the stream may be terminated preventing any further data usage on a metered data connection. A system may also include a user device and a back-end network with a stream manager service. The stream manager service terminates streaming over a wireless channel by an application of the user device when the user device determines one of inactivity of a user of the user device with the application or navigation on the user device away from the application.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments include a system and method to systematically map complex network topologies for providing real-time network address and service port information for each network or Internet of Things (IoT) device in the system. Furthermore, various class objects also provide a real-time configuration capability of devices, routers, modems, VPNs, and NATs in the system. Accordingly, the system can be managed with minimal user involvement while maintaining ongoing accuracy.
