    Abstract: A device for styling hair includes a first flexible, deformable elongated body member having a length and having first and second end portions, and a second flexible, deformable elongated body member having first and second end portions connected to the first and second end portions of the first body member, respectively. The second body member has a length that is less than the length of the first body member, so that a gap is formed between the first body member and the second body member through which hair may be inserted. An attachment mechanism is configured to secure the first end portion of the first body member to the second end portion of the first body member in a rounded configuration in which the first and second body members are deformed into a rounded shape with the second body member positioned inside a circumference of the first body member.

    Abstract: A method is provided of assisting a user with a selection of a personal appearance style over an interactive computer based network. Digital images of personal appearance styles are stored on a host computer in a database. Combinations of physical characteristics and personality characteristics are also stored on the host computer in the database, as are various business and/or social events. Information is received from the user related to physical and/or personality characteristics of the user, and related to an event the user will be attending. The host computer then determines personal appearance styles that are compatible with the user's physical and/or personality characteristics and the event the user will be attending, and transmits and displays those personal appearance styles to the user. A method is further provided to receive and compile feedback through a social networking arrangement over an interactive computer based network on a personal appearance style selected by a user for a past event.

    Abstract: A device for styling hair includes a flexible, relatively long body portion having a separating opening therein through which to receive a user's hair. This body portion has clasp portions extending from either end which can be closed into a corresponding clasp by the insertion of one portion in the other so as to prevent rotation of one with respect to the other, and to engage a detent arrangement therebetween. A suitable surface finish on a synthetic polymer material for the side members provides a desired coefficient of friction on that surface with respect to hair thereagainst. A styling enhancement maybe provided as part of the hair styling device.
