  • Patent number: 6016130
Abstract: An antenna structure for two frequency ranges including two antenna elements. The first antenna element is a cylindrical coil conductor (2) forming a helical antenna and includes in the direction of its longitudinal axis, a first portion (2a) and a second portion (2b). The second antenna element (3; 6) is connected to the cylindrical coil conductor by a fixed connection at a junction (2c) lying between the first and second portions of the first antenna element. The second antenna element may be for example, a filamentous conductor (5a), a conductive pattern (5) formed on the surface of an insulating plate (3), or a small-diameter helical antenna (6). The first operating frequency is dependent on the combined electrical length of the portions of the first antenna element while the second operating frequency is dependent on the combined electrical length of the lower part of the first antenna element and the second antenna element.

  • Patent number: 5990848
Abstract: The invention relates to a particular structure of high-frequency antenna, which comprises a support element (1) provided with a cylindrical coil conductor which forms a helix (2). On the support element (1) there is formed, for example by means of a conductive coating, the electrical parts of the antenna, such as the attachment points (3b) for the helix and for other parts, such as feeder lines (4), radiators (5) or impedance matching devices. By varying the number and size of the helices (2), the number and form of the feeder lines (4) and radiators (5) and the quality of any impedance matching devices, it is possible without difficulty to obtain a very wide choice of different antenna structures. The feeder lines and radiators extend, at least in part, within the helix.

  • Patent number: 5815048
Abstract: A radio frequency filter has a band-pass type frequency response which is controllable in a manner such that the frequency response may be moved between the transmission frequency (TX') and reception frequency (RX') of associated radio equipment. Thus the radio frequency filter may be used both as a transmission filter and as receiving filter, provided that the transmission and reception take place at different times. The radio frequency filter includes a change-over switch, which connects the radio frequency filter to a transmitter when the pass band of the radio frequency filter is in the transmission frequency, and which connects to the receiver when the pass band of the radio frequency filter is in the reception frequency.

  • Patent number: 5793269
Abstract: A stepwise regulated filter includes a resonator structure and a coupling connected to the resonator structure. The resonating frequency of a transmission line (HX1) acting as a resonator may be switched between at least three values. The switching is implemented using coupling elements (SL1, SL4) which are in an electromagnetic coupling (M2, M3) with the resonator (HX1). The potentials of the coupling elements (SL1, SL4) are affected by PIN diodes (D1, D2) acting as switches. A RF power signal, which is coupled from the resonator (HX1) to the coupling elements (SL1, SL4), is applied to both terminals of at least one diode (D1) with the same phase and power. Then the voltage across the diode (D1) cannot, in the blocking state, rise to a level that would cause undesirable mixing results or would damage the diode (D1).

  • Patent number: 5742259
Abstract: The invention relates to the structure and manufacturing method of a helix antenna suitable for use in mobile phones and other radio devices. The helix part of the antenna is made of a resilient material, like stainless spring steel wire, and its lower part is wound into a support coil more dense than the rest of the helix. The antenna includes a connector part through which it is electrically and mechanically connected to a radio device. The upper end of the connector part is formed such that when the helix part is fitted onto it, the support coil will undergo a change of form which generates a spring force that keeps the helix electrically and mechanically connected to the connector part. An elastic protective material is fitted onto the helix, attached by melting to a special joint surface in the connector part.

  • Patent number: 5734305
Abstract: The invention relates to a resonator structure and radio frequency filter in which the resonating frequency of a transmission line resonator can be switched in a stepwise manner between at least three values. The switching is implemented as follows: a regulating element including a switch that has at least three states is arranged in connection with the resonator. The three states of the switch correspond to different values of the specific impedance and, hence, the resonating frequency of the transmission line resonator. The regulating element is in accordance with a known arrangement: it may be e.g. a coupling element formed of a strip line on the surface of a low-loss substrate or ceramic, or a side circuit including a capacitive and inductive element, coupled to the resonator.

  • Patent number: 5731749
Abstract: The invention relates to a radiofrequency filter in which the coupling between the transmission line resonators is effected by using both a slot coupling and a link coupling. The coupling slot and the coupling link are designed so that changes of the coupling intensity in the link coupling caused by shifting of the resonator element is of the same size and of the opposite sign as a corresponding change in the slot coupling, whereby the changes compensate one another. The design is based on the fact that the distance of the coupling link from the resonator is longer close to the coupling slot than far away from the coupling slot.
